NBA 2K League Week 6 Preview

DOMINANT DAYFRI: Having led Wizards District Gaming to the best record in the Eastern Conference, center Ryan “Dayfri” Conger was named NBA 2K League Player of the Month for June. The 2020 NBA 2K League champion has averaged 16.5 points and 7.8 rebounds across 10 games in June. Conger and Wizards District Gaming will visit Pistons GT on Thursday, July 8 at 7:45 p.m. ET and Magic Gaming on Friday, July 9 at 9 p.m. ET.
REIZEY MAKES IT LOOK EASY: Magic Gaming point guard Brendan “Reizey” Hill averaged 27.8 points and 9.8 assists to guide his team to a 4-0 record in Week 5. On June 24, the Tyler, T.X.-native recorded 40 points and 10 assists in an 85-82 victory over Cavs Legion GC. Reizey and Magic Gaming will host Grizz Gaming on Friday, July 9 at 9 p.m. ET.
HORNETS VENOM GT VS. GRIZZ GAMING: Two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference will collide tonight at 7 p.m. ET when Hornets Venom GT (10-4) visits Grizz Gaming (10-4). Hornets Venom GT features a balanced offense with rookie Craig “rigby” Burnett Jr. (20.8 PPG, 4.8 APG) and veterans Justin “Sherm” Sherman (21.1 PPG, 9.4 APG) and Pete “PeteBeBallin” Malin (14.8 PPG, 10.7 RPG). Grizz Gaming is led by point guard Zach “Vandi” Vandivier (25.8 PPG, 9.6 APG) and power forward Mehyar “AuthenticAfrican” Ahmed-Hassan (14.4 PPG, 15.2 RPG).

TURN AHEAD: After Week 6, the NBA 2K League’s second in-season tournament of the season, THE TURN powered by AT&T, will take place from Wednesday, July 14 through Saturday, July 17. Matchups during THE TURN will be played in a best-of-three series, single-elimination format, with the winner of each series advancing to the next round. LAKERS GAMING VS. GEN.G TIGERS OF SHANGHAI: Lakers Gaming will visit the Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai on Friday, July 9 at 9 p.m. ET. Both teams reshaped their roster during the offseason. Lakers Gaming selected Dallas, T.X.-native Arshia “Krazy” Karimi (16.2 PPG, 11.2 RPG) with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft. The team also added 2020 NBA 2K League Champion Maurice “ReeceDaGod” Delaney (22.8 PPG, 6.4 APG) with the No. 7 pick in the Draft. The Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai made trades in the offseason to acquire 2019 NBA 2K League Champions Mihad “Feast” Feratovic (17.2 PPG, 10.7 RPG) and Jordan “Jmoney” Martinez (20.2 PPG, 10.5 APG), and veteran Alexander “Bsmoove” Reese (20.9 PPG, 4.5 APG).
