Games of the Week

76ers GC 71, Pacers Gaming 55: The best matchup of the week lived up to the hype. A nip-and-tuck game gave way to a one-sided final six minutes in favor of 76ers GC. The difference in the outcome can be traced to 3-point shooting, with Philly making 13 treys compared to Indy’s three — a 30-point difference. The outcome had big ramifications in the standings, giving 76ers GC their 10th win to jump into fourth place while all but assuring the champions of THE TIPOFF a playoff berth. The loss was the beginning of a disappointing week for Pacers Gaming.

Celtics Crossover Gaming 53, Magic Gaming 48: This was a gritty, low-scoring battle between two teams fighting for their playoff lives. It wasn’t pretty at times, evident by Boston’s four second-quarter points, but Celtics Crossover used a huge third-quarter push to jump out ahead for good in running their win streak to nine in a row while grabbing that much-needed 10th win of the regular season. Magic Gaming just couldn’t get in an offensive flow for an elongated stretch in order to steal a victory. They have two games remaining to try and secure a playoff berth.

Hawks Talon GC 75, Pacers Gaming 67: No team had a more challenging doubleheader this week than Pacers Gaming. They entered near the top of the playoff race, only to suffer a pair of defeats to drop back to seventh place, leaving them with work to do in their final week of the season. On the other side, Hawks Talon had little to lose having already been eliminated from contention. They overcame the absence of their head coach as well as their star player, Dat Boy Shotz, to pull off the surprising upset and head into the final week with positive vibes.

Outstanding Performances

JMoneyRep817, T-Wolves Gaming (32 points, 6 3FGM, 7 steals) vs Heat Check Gaming and (25 points, 4 assists) vs Knicks Gaming: He’s been a huge bright spot since coming over in a trade with Heat Check Gaming, so it’s only fitting he burned his former team for 32 points in the 40-point rout. It capped a huge scoring day for the rookie in helping T-Wolves Gaming run their winning streak to six games.

Radiant, 76ers GC (30 points, 8 assists, 6 3FGM) vs Pacers Gaming and (22 points, 17 assists, 6 3FGM) vs Wizards District Gaming: On the day he was named a finalist for league MVP, Radiant exploded for 30 points in dispatching Pacers Gaming. It came a day after dropping 17 dimes vs WDG. He’s starting to again look like TIPOFF Radiant, which is bad news for the rest of the league.

G O O F Y 7 5 7, Knicks Gaming (26 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals) vs Hawks Talon GC: The Goofy we all know and love is back. After being out of the lineup for stretches during the past few weeks, the big man returned with a couple of huge outings (including going for 14 points and 20 rebounds, albeit in a  loss to T-Wolves Gaming). His plethora of boards helped him increase his league-leading average to 14.8 RPG.

oFAB, Celtics Crossover Gaming (27 points, 7 assists, 3 steals) vs Lakers Gaming and (11 points, 14 assists, 2 steals) vs Magic Gaming: Is anyone in the league playing more impactful ball than he is at the moment? He has his squad riding a nine-game winning streak following this week’s doubleheader sweep that likely will get them into the postseason. He definitely has made the MVP conversation an interesting one.

AuthenticAfrican, Grizz Gaming (27 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals) vs Nets GC: Facing a must-win scenario, AA turned back the clock with a vintage performance. He carried the load in the 29-point rout, doing it on both ends of the floor to keep his team alive to see another day. We’ll see if he can keep it going in a pivotal Week 12 doubleheader.

ReeseDaGod, Wizards District Gaming (27 points, 4 3FGM) vs Nets GC: He’s making a strong case as one of the most improved players in the league. Scoring has been his forte, with a number of huge outings this season. He put together another strong display in nearly going for 30 points in the blowout win that momentarily kept WGD from being eliminated from contention.

Rando, Hawks Talon GC (23 points, 7 assists) vs Pacers Gaming: For a guy who is not a point guard by trade, he certainly is more than adequate as a primary ball handler. He spearheaded the huge upset of Pacers Gaming with an efficient outing in which he missed just four shots and committed only 3 turnovers in a much-needed, moral-boosting victory.

Must-See Plays

Nate the Great.

Easy peasy.

From outta nowhere.

Fundamentals, baby.

That’s just disrespectful.

Like clockwork.

Tweet of the Week

Started from the bottom, now we’re here.

Quotables

“We went through our rough patch earlier in the season. To have this feeling that we’re pretty much in just feels good. We had a goal at the beginning of the season to get here, and we did it.” — 76ers GC’s Radiant on his squad breathing a little easier knowing they’re likely playoff bound.

“This is definitely a game we wanted. We didn’t want to be at the bottom. Nobody wants to be at the bottom.” — Lakers Gaming’s Kev had extra motivation in beating Pistons GT in a battle of the two teams at the bottom of the standings.

“They’re going back to Indiana 0-2, this one’s a stinger. They’re 8-6 now, it hurts them.” — Hawks Talon GC’s Rando relished playing the role of spoiler after his squad took down Pacers Gaming.
