It’s time for the real show to begin. Four straight weeks of high-octane NBA 2K League action closing with the Finals in August. Firstly, we have to get through THE TURN, my favorite tournament! With remote bracket play coming up, we have another edition of power rankings to set the stage. 4 tiers, 25 teams, let’s get into it.

 

Title Town

2. 76ers GC 15-9
3. Gen.G Tigers 13-7
4. T-Wolves Gaming 16-7
5. Bucks Gaming 12-5
6. Pistons GT 9-6

 

After a little maneuvering and a little shaving, we’re sitting at six teams with realistic title conversations heading into the week. That can always change, but I still feel confident in what I said last week that our champion will come from this group. Outside of a miracle run from one of the teams under, our champion will come from the best of the best. All six of these teams will be in THE TURN, so let the best team win.

 

Right On The Edge

 

7. NBL Oz Gaming 10-6
8. NetsGC 8-4
9. Knicks Gaming 6-6
10. Grizz Gaming 10-8

 

I wanted to create a special section for these four because they have been good enough to at least warrant a nod. These four are good, but they just seem to be a notch under the top level teams. NetsGC and Knicks Gaming are on the rise while NBL Oz and Grizz Gaming have to figure it out with their backs now against the wall. We’ll see if a contender emerges from this group, they’ll need to prove it to us first.

 

Middle Earth

13. Magic Gaming 8-9
14. Raptors Uprising GC 6-6 
15. Cavs Legion GC 6-8
16. Pacers Gaming 5-9
17. Heat Check Gaming 7-7

 

These teams make up a quite hefty bubble group in the middle of the league. I wouldn’t say these teams are ~bad~ necessarily, they all just have holes in their team that have caused them to leak wins throughout the season. Whether it’s bad offensive rhythm or a lack of defensive tenacity, it was always something for these teams throughout the season. There may be a cheeky TICKET run in store for one of these teams, but it’ll have to be the stuff of legends to work.

19. DUX Infinitos 4-8
20. Jazz Gaming 4-8
21. Wizards DG 4-8
22. Mavs Gaming 3-9
23. Lakers Gaming 2-10
24. Hawks Talon GC 2-10
25. Kings Guard Gaming 1-11

 

Season is about wrapped up for these teams. Jazz Gaming and DUX Infinitos both have a shot to extend things in THE TURN, but we’ll see if they can get past round 1. For the rest, it’s to THE TICKET for them. Single-elimination this season as well, so these teams may very well have one game left in their entire 2023 season.
