THE TURN Powered by AT&T Week 1 Power Rankings

We are back! Apologies for missing the last power rankings. Life had gotten a bit hairy there for a second, but luckily we’ve made it out and my head is still attached to my shoulders. With THE TURN underway and us gearing up for the Playoffs, I’m going to change things up a bit for this edition. It’s TIER LIST TIME. I’m splitting teams up into tiers, let’s ride!

Let The Title Hunt Begin

  1. Warriors Gaming Squad 11-2
  2. 76ers GC 13-7
  3. T-Wolves Gaming 15-6
  4. Bucks Gaming 10-4
  5. Gen.G Tigers 11-5
  6. Grizz Gaming 10-5
  7. NBL Oz Gaming 9-4

We’ve witnessed enough of this season to determine who the TRUE contenders are. Maybe we get one more team joining this unit, but for now, these seven are the big dogs. I was very close to knocking NBL Oz Gaming off this top tier, but I’ll give them one more week to turn things around after that gross 40-point performance last week. Outside of that, these seven teams have proven themselves to be incredibly difficult to beat while having multiple ways of taking down their opponents. I’ll call my shot right now, the team that wins the title and the player that will win MVP will come out of this group.

Hot Streak Away From The Hunt

  1. Magic Gaming 7-7
  2. Pistons GT 6-6
  3. Knicks Gaming 5-4
  4. NetsGC 5-4
  5. Pacers Gaming 5-6
  6. Heat Check Gaming 5-6
  7. Cavs Legion GC 5-7

These teams have so far been unable to break out of the middle of the pack due to only having one good side of the ball or just being really unlucky with end game results. Sadly, numbers never lie and it just seems like these teams can’t get out of their own way. Out of this group, I think Pistons GT, Knicks Gaming, and Nets GC are most likely to make a run, but it’s tough to say. Considering the nature of this group, it could really be any of these teams.

Something Is Just Missing

  1. CLTX Gaming 4-6
  2. Hornets Venom GT 4-6
  3. Blazer5 Gaming 4-7
  4. Raptors Uprising GC 4-5
  5. Dux Infinitos 4-8
  6. Wizards DG 3-6

Too often we jump to extremes to describe teams when sometimes, you just need one simple word. Meh. There are some parts of these teams that I like, such as the B5 front court, AntoineLove’s great rookie season, Seem leading the league in rebounding, but that’s about where the list ends. It’s a rebuilding year for a lot of these teams, whether they want to believe it or not. Unless one of them has a 3-0 week next week, it’s likely THE TICKET for this bunch.

Try Again Next Year

  1. Mavs Gaming 2-7
  2. Lakers Gaming 1-8
  3. Kings Guard Gaming 1-8
  4. Jazz Gaming 2-7
  5. Hawks Talon GC 1-8

Well, this is unfortunate. It’s always difficult for me to officially waive the white flag for teams, but I think we can probably call it for these five. It just hasn’t gone their way this season. I see a lot of re-made backcourts that didn’t work outstanding alongside teams that probably shouldn’t have stuck with certain backcourts coming into the season. Only two questions remain – who gets the # 1 pick next season, and who even has their first round pick next draft (Hint: Hawks Talon do not).
