THE TURN POWERED BY AT&T – FACT SHEET

 

  • THE TURN powered by AT&T is the opening 5v5 tournament (Tuesday, June 20 – Saturday, July 22) with all 25 NBA 2K League teams participating. For THE TURN tournament group play schedule, click here.

 

  • THE TURN begins with two weeks of remote group play (June 20 – 23, June 27 – 30) to determine the top four teams from each group that will advance to remote bracket play (July 11 – 14). The eight top-performing teams will then face off live at District E in downtown Washington, D.C. July 19 – 22.
    • For the second season, the NBA 2K League hosted a “Group Draft” where teams selected each other’s opponents by picking groups.
    • The 25 teams are divided into two conferences – East and West. Each conference was then divided into two groups via the Group Draft, for a total of four groups – three groups of six teams and one group of seven teams.
    • Each team will play six matches in group play, competing against each team in its group at least once.
    • The four teams in each group with the best records will advance to the round-of-16 bracket play. Tiebreakers are detailed below.
    • Round‑of‑16 seeding will be determined by records during group play and (if necessary) use of the tiebreakers.
    • Matchups in group play will be played in a best-of-one format.
    • Matchups in the round‑of 16 bracket play, and quarterfinals through finals will be played in a best-of-three, single-elimination format.
    • The groups for group play are as follows:
      • Group A (Western Conference): DUX Infinitos, Grizz Gaming, Jazz Gaming, Mavs Gaming, Pistons GT, T-Wolves Gaming
      • Group B (Western Conference): Bucks Gaming, Blazer5 Gaming, Kings Guard Gaming, Lakers Gaming, Pacers Gaming, Warriors Gaming Squad
      • Group C (Eastern Conference): Celtics Crossover gaming, Hawks Talon GC, Hornets Venom GT, Knicks Gaming, Nets GC, 76ers GC
      • Group D (Eastern Conference): Cavs Legion GC, Gen.G Tigers, Heat Check Gaming, Magic Gaming, NBL Oz Gaming, Raptors Uprising GC, Wizards District Gaming
    • Tiebreaker scenarios for THE TURN:
      • Points earned for each match/series win
      • Win % overall (on a per game basis)
      • Head-to-Head record (on a per game basis)
      • When more than two teams are tied, teams will be seeded based on win % in all scheduled matchups among the tied teams
      • Win % within conference (on a per game basis)
      • Average points differential
      • Average points scored
      • Random Draw

 

  • Games will begin at 6 p.m. ET each night. Fans can watch games live on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.  Games will also be available on Dash Radio, Loco in India, and SPS.

 

  • The teams will compete for a total prize pool of $250,000. The prize pool will be awarded as follows:
  • First place – $100,000
  • Second place – $50,000
  • Third and fourth place – $25,000 each
  • Fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth place – $12,500 each

 

  • THE TURN powered by AT&T is the second of three in-season, 5v5 tournaments (THE TIPOFF, THE TURN and THE TICKET) that are part of THE BANNER CHAIN SERIES powered by AT&T.

 

  • 76ers GC is the defending champion of THE TURN powered by AT&T. Shooting guard Enrique “630” Xavier Barraza was named the 2022 THE TURN MVP.  The team is coming off winning THE TIPOFF powered by AT&T this past Saturday, June 17 in downtown Washington, D.C. against T-Wolves Gaming.
