THE TIPOFF Week 3 Power Rankings - NBA 2K League

THE TIPOFF Week 3 Power Rankings

  1. Warriors Gaming Squad 8-0
  2. T-Wolves Gaming 8-0
  3. NBL Oz Gaming 7-1

Before I get into my concerns, I want to establish that i think NBL Oz Gaming are a very good team! You don’t get to 7-1 by accident, but from re-watching a few of their games, I’m starting to get a little bit concerned. The defense is showing a few cracks that they need to start covering up before they get overly exploited. I noticed that their perimeter defense was starting to lax a little bit. They’ve been giving up more and more 3s and have seen their opponents 3P% balloon to above 40%. Now, that’s still very low, 4th lowest in the league to be exact, but just something to note for this week. Three-point variance can sink any team, NBL needs to tighten up to make sure it’s not them.

  1. Bucks Gaming 6-2
  2. Grizz Gaming 6-2
  3. Gen.G Tigers 5-3
  4. 76ers GC 5-3

Finally! Dre and 630 are starting to look like Dre and 630 again. When they are hitting their shots and getting out in transition, the team just looks so much better. The defense and offense syncs up so much nicer when those two are at the top of their game. It makes everyone look better. They smacked Celtics Crossover Gaming and got themselves back on track to make a run at The Tip-Off. They’ve made four TIPOFF Finals of the five possible and have won two of them.. Can’t count this team out until they are OUT.

  1. Magic Gaming 5-3
  2. Heat Check Gaming 4-4
  3. CLTX Gaming 4-4

Back to the drawing board for Boston. A really exciting and promising start to 5v5 torn down by a Philly explosion, they need to recover fast. Good news is, they are still in prime position for a playoff spot. 40 points is good enough to keep them on the bubble, but this franchise has struggled during THE TURN in the past. They made the Finals of the tournament back in Season 1, but it has been a deep, dark hole for them ever since. It has not been a friendly tournament, so they will have to buck the trends of the past to get themselves into the playoffs.

  1. Cavs Legion GC 3-5
  2. Pacers Gaming 3-5
  3. Pistons GT 3-6

Ranking Pistons GT correctly is an impossible task. On one hand, they are 3-6. On the other hand, they took a game off T-Wolves Gaming and are probably better than the 13th best team in the league. It’s a bit of a toss-up for Detroit at this point. The Top 4 of the west will be incredibly difficult for them to crack, so that leaves that final 5th spot that they will have to battle Pacers, Blazer5, and Dux for during THE TURN. They are a good team, but they also might make the playoffs as a .500 team.

  1. Blazer5 Gaming 3-5
  2. 15. NetsGC 2-4
  3. Hornets Venom GT 3-5
  4. Dux Infinitos 3-5

Dux is a weird 5v5 team right now. There just isn’t a lot of mesh right now between the offense and the defense and it’s causing them a ton of chaos. Beezus and Hes have been alright on the defensive end, but their offensive production has been painful so far. 27% from Hes, 32% from Beezus, it’s so hard to win with your corner shooters at those percentages. It starts to bleed into problems on the other end, forces you to play more conservative in transition, and just overall makes things worse. They are both good players who can play better, but it’s now or never for our 3v3 champions.

  1. Knicks Gaming 3-3
  2. Raptors Uprising GC 3-3
  3. Wizards DG 2-4
  4. Mavs Gaming 2-4
  5. Lakers Gaming 1-5
  6. Kings Guard 1-5
  7. Jazz Gaming 1-5
  8. Hawks Talon GC 1-5
