NBA 2K League Week 8 Preview

DUCK TALES: After averaging 33.2 points and 9.5 assists in Week 7, Knicks Gaming (12-10) point guard Christopher “Duck” Charles was named NBA 2K League Player of the Week. This is the Brooklyn-native’s second consecutive week earning the honor. Charles and Knicks Gaming are on a bye this week and will return to action in Week 9.
DYNAMIC ROOKIES: Three rookies are turning heads as they lead their teams in the chase for the 2021 NBA 2K League Playoffs Presented by DoorDash. Pacers Gaming (15-7) point guard Xavier “630” Barraza, a contender for NBA 2K League MVP and Rookie of the Year, is leading the league in scoring (33.1). After guiding his team to a 4-0 record in Week 7, 76ers GC (13-7) point guard Andre “Dre” Marshall ranks fifth in scoring (27.2) and eighth in assists (10.5). Hornets Venom GT (13-7) shooting guard Craig “rigby” Burnett Jr. was named MVP of THE TURN powered by AT&T and has been a key component of his team’s success (21.3 points, 4.5 assists).
WOLVES ON THE RUN: Currently on a seven-game winning streak, T-Wolves Gaming (16-6) is the hottest team in the NBA 2K League. The team is led by explosive shooting guard Dhwan “ShiftyKaii” White (24.6 points, 6.7 assists). On a bye week this week, T-Wolves Gaming returns to visit Knicks Gaming on Wednesday, August 4 at 9 p.m. ET.
INTER-CONFERENCE SHOWDOWN: Two of the top teams in the league will collide when Pacers Gaming hosts Grizz Gaming on Friday, July 30 at 7 p.m. ET. Grizz Gaming is propelled by veteran point guard Zach “Vandi” Vandivier (25.4 points, 9.9 assists). Currently second place in the Eastern Conference standings at 12-6, Grizz Gaming is on track to appear in the NBA 2K League Playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
GAME OF THE WEEK: This week’s NBA 2K League “Game of the Week” features two star point guards squaring off as Warriors Gaming Squad (11-7) will host Raptors Uprising GC (5-17). Raptors Uprising GC is guided by 2020 NBA 2K League MVP Kenneth “Kenny Got Work” Hailey (22.4 points, 8.0 assists). 2020 NBA 2K League MVP Finalist Charlie “CB13” Bostwick (22.1 points, 10.1 assists) leads Warriors Gaming Squad as the team looks to solidify its playoff position this season.
