NBA 2K League Week 4 Preview

CHOC’S WEEK: NetsGC point guard Josh “Choc” Humphries was named NBA 2K League Player of the Week for Week 3 of the 2021 season. The Tampa native averaged 34.5 points and 12.7 assists while leading NetsGC to a 3-1 record in Week 3. He leads the league in assists (13.5) and ranks fourth in scoring (29.5). Humphries and NetsGC will face Wizards District Gaming tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

THE HEAT IS ON: Propelled by point guard Sav “SAV” Valge- Saar and center Juan “Hotshot” Gonzalez, Heat Check Gaming enters Week 4 on a four-game winning streak. During Week 3, Valge-Saar averaged 28.5 points and 14.0 assists while Gonzalez, a 2018 NBA 2K League MVP finalist, averaged 21.5 points and 14.0 rebounds. Heat Check Gaming looks to extend its win streak when it visits Hawks TalonGC on Friday, June 19 at 7 p.m. ET.

RIGBY ON A ROLL: With an 8-2 start in the regular season, Hornets Venom GT sits near the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The team is propelled by a balanced offense that features impressive rookie Craig “rigby” Burnett Jr. (23.3 PPG, 3.8 APG) and veterans Justin “Sherm” Sherman (21.9 PPG, 10.1 APG) and Pete “PeteBeBallin” Malin (14.9 PPG, 11.1 RPG). Hornets Venom GT will host the Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai and Knicks Gaming this week.

POINT GUARD DUEL: Grizz Gaming will host Blazer5 Gaming in the NBA 2K League “Game of the Week” on Friday, June 18 at 10 p.m. ET. Currently ranked third in scoring (32.8 PPG), Blazer5 Gaming point guard Matthew “Bash” Robles has emerged as a prolific scorer this season after being acquired in an offseason trade with Kings Guard Gaming. Grizz Gaming is led by point guard Zach “Vandi” Vandivier (28.0 PPG, 10.2 APG). Vandivier was named the NBA 2K League Player of the Week for Week 1.

KRAZY LEADS THE LAKERS: On June 12, Lakers Gaming center Arshia “Krazy” Karimi registered 25 points and 18 rebounds to lead the team past Bucks Gaming 70-68. Karimi, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft, also added 17 points and 14 rebounds in a 76-75 victory over Bucks Gaming in the second game of that matchup.
