NBA 2K League Week 3 Preview

SHIFTYKAII LEADS THE WOLVES: T-Wolves Gaming point guard Dhwan “ShiftyKaii” White was named NBA 2K League Player of the Week for Week 2 of the 2021 season. Highlighted by a 52-point, 13-assist performance against Bucks Gaming, the Brooklyn-native averaged 36.3 points and 5.0 assists in Week 2 to lead his team to a 3-1 record. On a bye for Week 3, T-Wolves Gaming returns to action when they visit Jazz Gaming on June 16 at 7 p.m. ET.

PUSHING THE PACE: After finishing the 2020 season with a 4-12 record, Pacers Gaming is off to an impressive 6-0 start to the regular season. Sitting near the top of the Western Conference standings, the team has been paced by rookie point guard Xavier “630” Barraza. “630,” who leads the league in scoring (34.8 PPG), was the second overall pick in the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft. Pacers Gaming visits Cavs Legion GC tonight at 9 p.m. ET and hosts Magic Gaming tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET.

HAWKS FLYING HIGH: After selecting point guard Caesar “Ceez” Martinez with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 Draft, Hawks Talon GC moved 2019 NBA 2K League MVP finalist Michael “BP” Diaz-Cruz to shooting guard. The early results have been favorable as the team enters Week 3 on a five-game winning streak. Martinez is averaging a near double- double with 26.4 points and 9.1 assists while Diaz-Cruz is contributing 16.8 points and 4.4 assists.

FINALS REMATCH: On Friday, June 11 at 10 p.m. ET, Wizards District Gaming will host Warriors Gaming Squad in a rematch of the 2020 NBA 2K League Finals Delivered by DoorDash. Led by Finals MVP Ryan “Dayfri” Conger, Wizards District Gaming defeated Warriors Gaming Squad 3-1 to capture the coveted NBA 2K League championship. Warriors Gaming Squad is guided by 2020 NBA 2K League MVP finalist Charlie “CB13” Bostwick.

SUPER BASH BROS: Steered by point guard Matthew “Bash” Robles, Blazer5 Gaming recorded a 3-1 record during Week 2. The Los Angeles-native tallied back-to-back 40-point performances against Pistons GT and Cavs Legion GC. Robles currently ranks second in the league in scoring (32.8) and is joined on the team by 2018 NBA 2K League champion Dayvon “G O O F Y 7 5 7” Curry (10.0 PPG, 12.7 RPG). GRIZZ GAMING: Behind continued strong play from point guard Zach “Vandi” Vandivier (28 PPG, 10.2 APG), Grizz Gaming finished Week 2 with the best record in the Eastern Conference (5-1). Veteran Mehyar “AuthenticAfrican” Ahmed-Hassan is making a strong contribution to the team’s early success by averaging a double-double (16.0PPG, 16.8 RPG).
