NBA 2K League Week 11 Preview

RAPTORS ROLL ON: Raptors Uprising GC won the NBA 2K League’s second in-season tournament of the season, THE TURN powered by AT&T, and a first-place prize pool of $117,000, continuing its historic start to the 2020 NBA 2K League season. Back-to-back tournament MVP Kenneth “Kenny Got Work” Hailey averaged 28.8 points and 8.6 assists through nine tournament games, including averaging 26 points per game in THE TURN Finals. Combined with winning THE TIPOFF powered by AT&T in June, Raptors Uprising GC became the first team in league history to win the first two tournaments of the season.
RECORD WATCH: With a regular-season record of 13-0, Raptors Uprising GC already owns the record for most wins to start an NBA 2K League season. Set to play two matches in Week 11, Toronto can break the NBA 2K League record for longest winning streak in a season (14 by Blazer5 Gaming in 2019). Raptors Uprising GC will visit Kings Guard Gaming tomorrow and Lakers Gaming on Thursday, July 30. Both matches will begin at 9 p.m. ET.
NEWS KIDS ON THE BLOCK: Week 11 will feature the league’s two newest teams facing off in the NBA 2K League Game of the Week – Hornets Venom GT and the Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai. Hornets Venom GT is led by first-round draft picks Justin “Snubby” Stemerman (21.6 ppg, 4.5 apg) and Zaeya “Zae” Ishak (14.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg). The Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai are propelled by the No. 5 pick in the 2020 Draft, Dhwan “ShiftyKai” White (30.8 ppg, 8.1 apg) along with the veteran presence of 2019 NBA 2K League Champion Christopher “TURNUPDEFENSE” Anderson.
WIN AND THEY’RE IN: Three teams – Mavs Gaming, Warriors Gaming Squad and Wizards District Gaming – enter Week 11 needing one win to officially clinch a spot in the 2020 NBA 2K League Playoffs. Kings Guard Gaming can earn a playoff berth by recording two wins in Week 11. The 2020 Playoffs will tip off Wednesday, August 19. THIS IS NOT A GAME – SAV: Rookie point guard Sten “SAV” Valge-Saar is having an impressive season for Lakers Gaming. In the first round of THE TURN, the Toronto-native registered 27 points, eight assists and two steals in the series-winning game over Grizz Gaming. SAV ranks fifth in the league in points per game (32.4) and eighth in assists per game (8.0). With aspirations of being a professional soccer player, he played in high school but found his true calling after playing NBA 2K14. SAV and Lakers Gaming will visit Heat Check Gaming tomorrow at 9 p.m. ET and host Raptors Uprising GC on Thursday, July 30 at 7 p.m. ET.
