NBA 2K League Awards

The NBA 2K League will present 12 major awards that honor top performers from the 2022 season.  The NBA 2K League Awards are as follows: (1) Most Valuable Player, (2) Defensive Player of the Year, (3) Sportsmanship Award, (4) Rookie of the Year, (5) Most Improved Player Award, (6) Coach of the Year, (7) Amateur of the Year, (8) Fan Engagement Award, (9) Play of the Year, (10) 2022 All-NBA 2K League First and Second Teams, (11) NBA 2K League All-Defensive Team, and (12) NBA 2K League All-Rookie Team.

Award nominees and winners will be decided by players, team managers, coaches, media, on-air talent, fans and/or NBA 2K League officials. Select individual awards will be announced during the 2022 NBA 2K League All-Star Game on Friday, September 30^th.  The All-NBA 2K League Teams will be announced the week of October 2^nd.

All fan voting will begin on Monday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. ET and conclude at 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

NBA 2K League Most Valuable Player Award

 

Nomination Process:

Team managers (one per team) and all NBA 2K League players will have the ability to vote for five players to be a finalist for the MVP award.  The five players that receive the most votes will be named MVP finalists and eligible for the final vote to determine the MVP.

 

2022 MVP Finalists will be announced on Monday, Aug. 29.  

 

Vote Weighting:

• of the vote – Players
• ⅓ of the vote – Team managers, League officials, on-air talent and media
• ⅓ of the vote – Fans

NBA 2K League Amateur of the Year

Vote Weighting:

• of the vote – Players (including Amateur players)
• ⅓ of the vote – Team managers, League officials, on-air talent and media
• ⅓ of the vote – Fans

NBA 2K League Coach of the Year

• of the vote – Players
• ⅔ of the vote – Coaches/team managers

 

 

All-NBA 2K League Teams, All-Defensive NBA 2K League Team, and All-Rookie Team

The All-NBA 2K League First and Second Teams will recognize the ten best players in the league by their respective positions.  Each team will be comprised of five players.

• ½ of the vote – Players
• ½ of the vote – Team managers, League officials, on-air talent and media
• Each All-NBA 2K League Team will consist of two backcourt players and three frontcourt players
  • Players with the most votes will be on the First Team. Players with the next highest totals will be on the Second Team.

NBA 2K League Fan Engagement Award

Awarded to a team that demonstrates outstanding fan engagement through community service, local business initiatives and/or social media.  NBA 2K League officials will vote to determine the five finalists for the award. Once that vote has concluded, the team that receives the most votes among the five finalists from fans and NBA 2K League officials will win the award.
