Four Intriguing Early Regular-Season Matchups For Season 4

The schedule is out for Season 4 of the NBA 2K League. Fans should have their calendars marked for the in-season tournaments, starting with THE TIPOFF Powered by AT&T, set for May 19. The winner of this annual, season-opening tournament will take the largest share of a $160,000 prize pool. THE TIPOFF ends on May 22, and will give one team a chance to announce themselves as a force to be reckoned with in Season 4.

THE TIPOFF also sets the stage for the beginning of the regular season, starting on Thursday, May 26. More on that in a bit.

THE TURN Powered by AT&T, the second in-season tournament, carries an even bigger prize pool. A total of $260,000 will be on the line from July 14-17.

THE TICKET Powered by T&T will take place August 19-21, with the winning teams from each conference earning the 11th and 12th spots in the playoffs.

Finally, the NBA 2K League Playoffs Delivered by DoorDash has a $450,000 payout to the league champions and more than $1 million in total prize money. The NBA 2K League postseason starts on Thursday, August 26, and concludes on Sunday, September 4.

As for the early part of the regular season, there are a bevy of intriguing games on the schedule, but a few stand out because of the storyline that will carry over from Season 3, and even some have layers dating back to Season 1.

Regular Season Week 1

The Champs are Here – May 26

Wizards District Gaming vs. Celtics Crossover Gaming

Fresh off winning the league championship in Season 3 and led by DayFri, arguably the best big man in the game, Wizards District Gaming begins their quest to repeat against the new-look CLTX Crossover Gaming.

For the first three seasons of the league, oFAB has been the face of the CLTX franchise. CLTX traded him to Cavs Legion GC during the offseason. Now, FT Cruz, the newly drafted WorthingColt, Bulleyy, and DJLayyy attempt to make a statement.

If CLTX Crossover is looking for an early test in the post-oFab era, they will get just that here.

Choc vs. Radiant – May 27

NetsGC vs. Pistons GT

Most will tell you that if you’re looking for two of the best point guards in the NBA 2K League, to look no further than Nets GC’s Choc and Pistons GC’s Radiant.

Radiant spent his first three seasons in the 2K League with 76ers GC before becoming another big name moved during this offseason. Radiant, a Battle Creek, Michigan native, is now playing for his hometown squad, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can continue his high level of play for a new organization.

Choc is never far away from the spotlight because of his excellence on the court, passion, and outspokenness. Whenever he’s on the sticks, fans are paying attention, and this opening-week matchup has the potential to be one of the best of the early slate.

No. 1 For a Reason? – May 28

Lakers Gaming vs. Jazz Gaming

I’ll never forget Mavs GG’s Dimez staring at the camera after a Season 1, Week 1 victory and telling the world he was “Number one for a reason.” Dimez was the first-ever pick in the NBA 2K League, putting tremendous pressure on him to perform. A similar pressure will fall on the shoulders of Lakers Gaming’s Krazy. He was the first overall pick in this year’s Draft.

The talented but shy Dallas native will have gotten his feet wet earlier in May during THE TIPOFF, but things may be pushed to another level when he and Lakers Gaming tangle with one of Season 3’s best squads, Jazz Gaming. Every time Krazy takes the virtual floor, he’ll need to prove why he was the No. 1 pick.

Run it Back – May 28

Wizards District Gaming vs. Raptors Uprising GC

Wizards District took the title last season, defeating Warriors Gaming Squad, and pulled a major upset over Raptors Uprising GC in the semifinals on the way.

Raptors Uprising GC had gone undefeated in the regular season so needless to say, going down at the hands of Wizards District Gaming had to leave a mark. KennyGotWork and the rest of the squad will get an early opportunity for some payback when his team clashes with Dayfri and the defending champions.
