Hornets Venom GT Trades Snubby To Magic Gaming For #8 Overall

The roster retooling in Charlotte continues!

Hornets Venom GT has traded Snubby to Magic Gaming for the #8 overall pick in the 2021 draft.

What This Means For Hornets Venom:

Well, one thing is for sure in Season 4. Hornets Venom GT is going to have an almost completely new roster! The expansion team that made the playoffs has traded or lost 4/5 of their starting lineup with Snubby moving to Magic Gaming. All that’s left is Expose, the #6 overall pick from last season. With pick #8 and #15 in hand, they look to rebuild a roster that is set to have plenty of new faces. Sherm and PeteBeBallin are in tow following the Zae/Sick One trade, so Hornets Venom still has a few spots on their starting lineup to fill out. Overall, this much change comes with a ton of risk, especially when you move on from some very talented players in Snubby, Zae, and Type. We’ll wait to see what the roster looks like before making any final judgments, however this is putting almost all the onus on Expose to be an elite PG, something he didn’t show in Season 3. It’s a risk, but one that could pay off in a big way.

What This Means For Magic Gaming:

This is a phenomenal move for Magic Gaming. Snubby is the exact kind of player that this team needed to pair with Reizey to get the most out of their star. Whether he plays sharp or lock, he’s a great outlet for Reizey to have on the wing to share some offensive possessions with and take pressure off their lead man. Heck, we could even see Reizey play at the 2 with Snubby at PG to let Reizey get back to his old SG days from before Season 2. At #8 overall, it’s very unlikely that Magic Gaming was going to find a guy who fits their team as well as Snubby does and looking at the rest of the roster, it’s fair to get excited. Their Top 4 is now Reizey, Snubby, DT, and May. A really solid core that could do some big things next season if they get a quality 5th starter. It’s been a quiet offseason for Magic Gaming so far, but this is a great move for them as they start to look ahead at that draft.
