History has been made! The 1st ever 3-team trade in NBA 2K League history and it is a doozy.

Grizz Gaming receives: Blazer5 Gaming 2021 1st and 2nd round picks, NetsGC 1st round pick
NetsGC get: Dat Boy Shotz, Grizz Gaming 2021 2nd and 3rd round picks
Blazer5 Gaming gets: G O O F Y 7 5 7, Randomz, JoelLazu

What This Means For Grizz Gaming:

Well, the GOOFY experiment didn’t last long. Instead of trying again with the star big man, they shipped him to Blazer5 and ended up with 2 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick, receiving what they dealt for him in the first place. This gives Grizz Gaming a clean slate next to AuthenticAfrican and Vandi and plenty of picks to rebuild with. They will have picks #14 and #16 in the 1st round and #39 in the 2nd round as they look to make the playoffs for the 1st time in team history in Season 4.

What This Means For NetsGC:

In the NBA 2K League, it’s incredibly difficult to build a winning team without blue-chip players at PG and Center. For NetsGC, they now have both. Giving up Randomz is tough, but Dat Boy Shotz is now in Brooklyn. One of the best 2K players in the world, Shotz can play almost anywhere in the front court, but will likely find his home at the 5 playing pick and roll with Choc and with his usual brand of stellar defense. From the Nets perspective, they  gave up Randomz, Joel Lazu and a 1st and Shotz and a 2nd. A pretty great deal for them all things considered. With Choc, Jin, and Dat Boy Shotz in tow, they will now look to stack their wings with their remaining picks, including giving Choc a partner in the backcourt. That partner might be just as important, if not more important, than getting Shotz onto this team.

What This Means For Blazer5 Gaming:

It’s pretty clear now that Blazer5 Gaming had no interest in rolling the dice in the draft and now, they have their entire starting 5 AND their 6th man for Season 4. Their roster will be:

PG: Bash
Sharp: Scretty
Lock: Randomz
PF: BreadwinnerLA
C: G O O F Y 7 5 7
Guard: Joel Lazu

It’s a fascinating team and on paper it looks really good. 6 multi-year veterans all coming from different corners of the NBA 2K League universe stands to be a pretty good team, but we’ll see how they mesh over the course of a season. In terms of this trade alone, nabbing a great lock in Randomz and an equally as good Center in GOOFY makes this a pretty good deal for Blazer5 to make. They are the first team in league history to enter the draft with all 6 roster spots filed. All in all, the 3 teams got exactly what they wanted. Grizz got picks to rebuild through the draft. NetsGC got their star Center to pair with Choc. Blazer5 Gaming got 3 solid players to finish off their team. Win-win-win.
