SOON TO BE CHAMPIONSHIP CHARLIE? After averaging 31.4 points and 8.7 assists during the regular season, Warriors Gaming Squad point guard Charlie “CB13” Bostwick was named an MVP finalist.  From Broad Channel, N.Y., Bostwick takes classes at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University during the offseason.  The dynamic point guard also played varsity basketball in high school and volunteered with the Center for Working Families in Quito, Ecuador in 2017.

LIVING UP TO THE HYPE: Hailing from Irvington, N.Y., Wizards District Gaming point guard John “JBM” Mascone was an avid tennis player before picking up the controller.  On the verge of playing tennis at the collegiate level, Mascone suffered an injury and turned his attention to NBA 2K.  He was selected with the first overall pick in the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft delivered by Panera Bread.  Five months later, he’s the starting point guard for Wizards District Gaming in the NBA 2K League Finals and a Rookie of the Year Delivered by Panera finalist after averaging 26.4 points and 6.9 assists in the regular season.

LEADING THE WIZ: Before becoming a fan favorite in the NBA 2K League, Wizards District Gaming center Ryan “Dayfri” Conger was an accomplished baseball player.  The Dallas-area native began playing at four years old and earned a scholarship to play catcher at Letourneau University.  After tearing his ACL, Conger began playing NBA 2K, and the rest is history.  Drafted by Mavs Gaming in the inaugural NBA 2K League Draft, he was acquired by Wizards District 2019 via trade prior to the 2019 season.  Averaging a double-double of 14.0 points and 11.8 rebounds along with 4.5 assists in the regular season, Conger is a 2020 NBA 2K League MVP finalist.

HISTORIC PRESCRIPTION:  When the Finals tips off on Friday, Wizards District Gaming shooting guard Antonio “Newdini” Newman will make history as he becomes the first NBA 2K League player to play in two NBA 2K League Finals.  Selected in the second round of the 2020 Draft, he has been a key component to Wizards District Gaming’s success.  Newman spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons with 76ers GC as a starter, where he helped them win the 2018 and 2019 TIPOFF powered by AT&T and finish as runner-up in the 2019 Finals.  Prior to joining the league, Newdini was a Walgreens pharmacy technician and a pre-pharmacy major at Illinois Central College.

DEVELOPED IN THE G: In his first season as Warriors Gaming Squad head coach, Mike Newton has his team in the NBA 2K League Finals delivered by DoorDash.  Prior to becoming the team’s head coach, Newton spent a season with the NBA G League’s Santa Cruz Warriors working in Basketball Operations & Player Development.  Before joining the  Warriors, he spent two seasons with the Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks,  serving as basketball operations intern for the 2018 and 2019 NBA Summer League.

DON’T CALL IT A COMEBACK: Selected in the first round of the 2020 Draft, Warriors Gaming Squad center Malik “Slaughter” Leisinger completed his comeback to the NBA 2K League.  Leisinger spent the 2018 season with Jazz Gaming, but was not retained by the team and went undrafted in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft.  The virtual big man spent 2019 improving his game and has developed into one of the top centers in the league, averaging 11.7 points and 14.3 rebounds in the regular season.

BALLING IN REAL LIFE:  Warriors Gaming Squad point guard Matt “Matty” Grant played four seasons of Division 1 college basketball at Detroit Mercy (2013 – 2017), where he averaged 4.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 19.4 minutes over 95 career games (38 starts).

FAMILIAR FOE:  Born in South Korea, Warriors Gaming Squad power forward Jin “Jin” Choe was originally drafted by Wizards District Gaming in the 2018 NBA 2K League Draft.  After being let go by Wizards District Gaming, Jin was selected by Warriors Gaming Squad with the 38th overall pick in the 2019 Draft.

FOR THE FAM: Selected in the inaugural 2018 NBA 2K League Draft, shooting guard Maurice “ReeseDaGod’ Delaney has been with Wizards District Gaming since the very beginning.  In 2017, the Chicago-native lost his father in a shooting and has dedicated his NBA 2K League career to him.
