2022 NBA 2K League Point System
For the first time, the NBA 2K League has shifted to a point system in 2022 where NBA 2K League teams in 5v5 tournaments, and NBA 2K League teams and amateur teams in 3v3 tournaments, will accrue points that will be used to determine the participants and seeding in the NBA2KL Playoffs. An explanation of this point system is below.
5v5 – THE TIPOFF and THE TURN powered by AT&T
Each win in THE TIPOFF and THE TURN = 1 point
Winners of THE TIPOFF and/or THE TURN = 3 points
Maximum total number of points per team per tournament = 11 points
Each win during 5v5 Seed Week = 1 point
Maximum total number of points per team during 5v5 Seed Week = 5 points
3v3 – THE SLAM OPEN and SWITCH OPEN entitled by Coinbase
Each win in SLAM OPEN and SWITCH OPEN = 1 point
Winners of SLAM OPEN and/or SWITCH OPEN = 3 points
Maximum total number of points per team per tournament = 12 points
Each win during 3v3 Seed Week = 1 point
Maximum total number of points per team during 3v3 Seed Week = 5 points
PLAYOFFS At the end of the 3v3 and 5v5 Seed Weeks, the top five point earners from each of the 3v3 and 5v5 formats from each of the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference will earn a spot in the NBA2KL 3v3 Playoffs and 5v5 Playoffs, respectively. Two additional teams in the 3v3 Playoffs will be determined by THE STEAL, and the two additional teams in the 5v5 Playoffs will be determined by THE TICKET. The 13th and 14th spots in the NBA 2KL 3v3 Playoffs will be the amateur team that earns the most points from each of the SLAM OPEN and SWITCH OPEN.
