Dayfri was born and raised in the small town of Palmer, Texas, just south of Dallas. He graduated from Palmer High School in 2015 and went on to play junior college baseball at Cedar Valley before transferring to LeTourneau University. He coached a travel baseball team as a freshman in college and was a certified umpire and did that as a hobby in his free time. While playing baseball at LeTourneau, he tore his ACL. With his baseball career cut short but still wanting to compete, he turned to competitive 2K. At the age of 21, he was drafted into the 2K League by Mavs Gaming with the 34th pick for the inaugural season. He was traded to Wizard District Gaming for the 14th pick going into the 2nd season of the league. While with Wizard DG he racked up multiple awards in the NBA 2K League. The team won back-to-back championships in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, Dayfri led Wizards DG in winning the first ever 3v3 tournament, The Slam, where he was awarded tournament MVP. They eventually made the first 3v3 Finals and made it to their third Finals in a row in 5v5 that same season. Individually, Dayfri was awarded Finals MVP after winning his first championship. He earned 1st Team All-NBA 2K League in 2020, 2021, and 2022. He was 1st Team All-Defense in 2021 and 2022. In 2022 he was awarded Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year. After the 2022 season, Dayfri retired from the league and became the head coach for Mavs Gaming. Following his coaching debut, he realized that he still wanted to play and announced his entry back into the league as a player. Mavs Gaming then acquired him via trade with Wizards DG who still retained his rights as a player.
