The 2021 NBA 2K League Finals Delivered with DoorDash gets underway on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on Twitch and YouTube. The defending champion Wizards District Gaming will attempt to do something no other franchise has done, and that’s repeat as champions.

Standing in their way is Jazz Gaming, a perennial contender who has finally taken the final step to get to the last series. Who comes out on top? I asked a group of NBA 2K League coaches for their take, here is what they said.

Nets GC head coach Ivan Curtiss:

“This matchup will be one for the ages. You have two of the best duos in the league with Splashy/Ria vs. JBM/Dayfri. Both of these teams have a lot to play for – Wizards District Gaming looking to go back to back for the first time in league history, and Jazz Gaming playing for so much more than a game with Compete losing his brother before the Western Conference Finals. WDG are tough and won’t beat themselves. If Jazz Gaming want to win their first championship they have to play a flawless game on both ends, but I got WDG in 5.”

Warriors Gaming head coach Mike Newton:

“I have Wizards District Gaming in this one. Defensively they rotate and challenge every shot which is the difference maker. Offensively they are super efficient and can score at every level.”

T-Wolves Gaming’s Nick Gartrelle:

“I think it goes four games, Jazz Gaming wins, with Splashy being the MVP.”

Based on the three coaches who chimed in, the defending champions seem to be the team getting the most love from coaches. What’s my prediction? I’m glad you asked. I’m usually a go-against-the-grain kind of guy, but in this series, I can’t do it.

JBM is so solid and built for postseason play that I believe he will win the point guard matchup against Splashy who I’m worried will try to do too much, and wind up costing his team a game or two. Dayfri and Ria will be a battle for the ages on the inside, but at the end of the day, Dayfri’s experience will help him prevail.

We saw some emotion from Ria in the playoffs during an intense series with Warriors Gaming Squad. Much of it was painted as a positive, but I’m not so sure that will be the case on the biggest stage of the competition.

I’m going with Wizards District Gaming in 4 to repeat as champions. We’ll find out if Gartrelle knew something that the rest of us don’t.
