Final 3v3 Award Predictions - NBA 2K League

Final 3v3 Award Predictions

With the book officially closed on 3v3, I figured I’d follow up with one last piece on the mode before fully shifting gears to 5v5! I’m currently in the middle of a crazy move, but the 5v5 full preview is being cooked up behind the scenes. I’ll have it done before action tips off again next week. For now, let’s get into my final award choices of the year.

Official Awards

Most Valuable Player (MVP): ShiftyKaii

HM: Unguardable, Gallow

No changes here and I’m happy I stuck to my guns. Kaii, like Lakers Gaming, put on a near wire-to-wire run as the best player in 3v3. He had some excellent challengers, but nobody displayed the dominance and control that Kaii did week in and week out. He had this air of inevitability this season that was truly incredible to watch. No changes on honorable mentions either, I think our top 3 was pretty set for most of the year. Shoutout to Tutak and Godlike for excellent seasons as MVP finalists. Disappointed for Vandi who definitely deserved a finalist spot.

1st Team All-3V3: Kaii, YooVC, LowkeyGodlike

HM: Unguardable-Jboolin-Igymo

Jboolin narrowly gets edged out for 1st team after an incredible playoffs from YooVC. His growth as a player on both ends is seriously special, I know there were a lot of rumblings that he could be an elite lock, but seeing it happen live was a ton of fun. Kaii and Godlike are no surprise to me, but I think Bear or Igymo could get a shout for a spot considering their great seasons. All in all, excellent 1st team. If you were to force me to make a 2nd team, I’d go

Amateur of the Year: Shifty
HM: SwagsReturn, Quickster

No changes for me here either. The Rim Runners team deserve all the spots for their excellent season, I thought they could be our first championship Saturday community team but alas, we will have to wait another year.

Unofficial “Fun” Awards:

Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY): Whatsstick

HM: Dtrick, YooVC, Jboolin

After the performance he had in the Steal and the immense effort he showed in the playoffs, I think I have Stick taking the award at the buzzer. Led the league in steals, forced so many huge turnovers to keep the Knicks season alive, he’s developed into a crazy impactful player. I think this was our best 3v3 season defensively, so no surprised maybe the best defender in the league gets the awards.

Coach of the Year (COY): Nacho

HM: Jonah, JMoney, Famous

Can I give this award to 2 people? It doesn’t feel fair to give this award to only 1 coach because I think our coaches did an amazing job this year. I have Nacho just edging out Jonah, the Lakers preparation and focus during the playoffs was all-time stuff. Magic seemed to just run out of gas at the end, that loss to Gen.G really took the wind out of their sails. Jonah did an excellent job refocusing them and getting to the Finals, but Lakers Gaming were just too much to handle. Credit to both for amazing seasons, Jonah wins Executive of the Year in my book if that is a thing!

Most Improved Player (MIP): Gallow
HM: Dtrick, Leche

Again, no changes here. Gallow is an absurd, ridiculous, unfair, and cracked out player. Who he showed in 3v3 is the player we were all hoping he’d become, it just took a little bit longer to show than anticipated. Now, 5v5 looms and we get to see if he’s the same player with the big money on the line.

That does it for me, we’ll see you guys next week for the official 5v5 preview!
