Blazer5 Gaming (12-2) put the exclamation point on their phenomenal regular season by downing Pacers Gaming (5-8) with a 95-72 triumph to collect their 12th win.
It was a game that was essentially over by halftime, as a 25-13 second quarter from Blazer5 ruined what looked to be a close contest in the game’s opening minutes.
Dat Boy Shotz and OneWildWalnut, who are favorites in the NBA 2K League MVP race, had yet another solid performance from the field, with OneWildWalnut already having a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds by halftime. However, the most notable performance on the floor was by Jomar12 PR, the Blazer5 sixth man who rarely left the bench this season. He began scoring for Portland by hitting the opening three of the game, which secured his career-high in points for a game this season. He would end the game with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
After the second quarter blowout, the Pacers came out of the halftime huddle unable to regain composure, digging their hole deeper to a 21-point deficit. They still finished the game strong, only allowing two more points than what they scored in the fourth quarter, but at that point, the contest was already a formality and Blazer5 had the win in the bag.
Blazer5 Gaming will take this bit of confidence and push forward into their first-round contest with Knicks Gaming next week in the NBA 2K League Playoffs.
