Knicks Gaming Complete Their Storybook Ending

July 14, 2018

Knicks Gaming’s Cinderella run had its storybook ending.

Entering THE TICKET as the No. 15 seed, Knicks Gaming overcame the incredible odds stacked against them to win the tournament and secure an automatic bid into the NBA 2K League Playoffs. After beating Raptors Uprising GC, Wizards District Gaming and Cavs Legion GC, the Knicks completed their phenomenal weekend by beating Celtics Crossover Gaming 83-80.

The Knicks’ Gaming key to success was through their three-point shooting, coming out to play with four sharpshooting archetypes. However, their accuracy from downtown did not start out stellar; through twelve minutes of play, the Knicks Gaming were shooting 7-of-18 from downtown. Part of this could be contributed to the Celtics’ Crossover two-headed frontcourt monster MEL EAST and ARS0NAL x, who consistently stopped GOOFY 757 in the paint and combined for 25 points on 12-of-13 shooting. With their scoring prowess, the Celtics Crossover led 41-36 at the half.

After the break, Knicks Gaming found their groove from deep, hitting 5-of-7 three-point attempts in the second half. Celtics Crossover Gaming were still up three at the end of the third and began to extend their range with the help of Profusion, who dropped 26 points during the contest, but the Knicks Gamign were able to make it a back-and-forth game all the way up to the final 15 seconds.

With the game on the line, Speedbrook got the ball and faked out NateKahl, but what would have been his game-tying bucket clanged off the rim, went over the backboard and out of bounds. After that, a few free throws put the free pass to the playoffs out of the Celtics’ Crossover reach.

Although he shot 5-of-11 from three in this game, iamadamthe1st was the Knicks’ Gaming second-leading scorer with 21 points. The shot-creating sharpshooting point guard was crowned THE TICKET’S Most Valuable Player, which he earned from his performance not only in the finals, but because of his back-to-back 33-point games in the tournament’s first two rounds along with a respectable 20-point showing in the semifinals.

Knicks Gaming are not only bound for the playoffs, they are also the hottest team in the league at the moment. They are on a five-game win streak as they head back into the regular season, where they can now focus on practicing for the big dance while scouting their potential competition. As for Celtics Crossover Gaming, they will travel up I-95 to focus up before they fight for a playoffs spot. Boston’s first game of the final regular season slate is against Kings Guard Gaming, and with a 5-5 record, they will need every win possible to get themselves a shot at the inaugural NBA 2K League crown.
