Knicks Gaming Use Barrage Of 3-Pointers To Top Wizard District Gaming

July 14, 2018

Knicks Gaming picked up right where they left off Friday night with a dominating 81-69 win over Wizards District Gaming on Saturday during THE TICKET.

While the first few minutes of the opening quarter were close enough, once Knicks decided to pick up the pace, there was nothing at all that Wizards District could do about it. It all started with an 11-2 lead in the final two-and-a-half minutes of the first quarter and it ended with a barrage of threes in the fourth quarter that sealed the big win for New York.

When it comes to how the Knicks managed to win this game so easily, it all comes down to two factors. First and foremost, there was the monster performance from iamadamthe1st, who continues to step up big time here at THE TICKET. After scoring 33 points on Friday night against the Raptors, iamadamthe1st tallied another 33-point, nine-assist performance here that set the tone for the Knicks. The bulk of his scoring came on 6-of-10 shooting from beyond the arc, which was the other contributing factor for this win as the Knicks rained threes from start to finish. By the game’s end, they had knocked down 11 triples on 22 tries. In the fourth quarter, it seemed like they just couldn’t miss from outside the arc as it marched ahead towards the victory.

Against the overwhelming pressure from New York, it just seemed like the Wizards were out of step and couldn’t keep up with the pace the Knicks had set. Sure, Boo Painter made his usual contributions with 35 points, eight assists and six rebounds, but the rest of the team floundered. One sequence in the third quarter perfectly encapsulated the struggles of Washington here as Boo Painter missed a dunk after a nice move in the lane only to see the Knicks run right down the court and get a layup of their own to keep things moving along. There was simply no stopping the New York freight train here as they eased to a lopsided win.

The Knicks will now move on to the semifinals where they will face the winner of the quarterfinal match between Mavs Gaming and Cavs Legion GC.
