In the battle of the bigs, Heat Check Gaming (3-3) and Knicks Gaming (2-5) scrapped in the paint for four quarters. Ultimately, Hotshot and HyPeR iS Pro proved to best GOOFY 757 and IdrisDaGoat6, giving Heat Check their third win of the regular season by way of a 75-74 nailbiter.

The first half was played with no team allowing the other to get more than a six point lead. Hotshot bullied his assignment Idris on offense, leading all scorers with 18 points at the half. Whenever Hotshot was not holding onto the ball, it was coming off of the hands of HyPer, who was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field through 12 minutes. At the end of two quarters, the Heat Check only led 43-40.

Knicks Gaming kept themselves in the fight through iamadamthe1st, who knocked down a pair of triples during the half. However, he could not find a way to shoot better than 50 percent from the field all game, ending the game 5-of-13 from the field and 3-of-8 from downtown.

Despite adam’s shooting woes, Knicks Gaming won the next two quarters by a single point, as GOOFY and Idris started to find their confidence against their matchups. Still, they could not contain the offensive prowess of Hotshot and HyPeR, who ended the game with 52 points combined for 21-of-28 shooting.

Their dominance from the field was proven right up until the final seconds. NateKahl failed to put in a dagger with less than 30 seconds to play, allowing Heat Check Gaming to get the final possession. After a timeout, Heat Check decided to let Hotshot drive through the lane. Although he wound up getting blocked by NateKahl, the ball deflected right to HyPeR, who hit the game-winning floater with just under two seconds left to play.

Knicks Gaming will have to put this painful loss behind them if they want survive next week’s double-header against Cavs Legion GC and Grizz Gaming. They will get to see Cavs Legion GC play Heat Check later today, as Heat Check Gaming will look to cross the .500 line following their thrilling victory over Knicks Gaming.
