Grizz Gaming narrowly edged out Warriors Gaming Squad in a 70-68 contest on Friday in the NBA 2K League.
This game might have come down to the absolute wire, but it certainly didn’t start out that way. Grizz Gaming (2-4) opened the game with a red-hot 17-2 run that made it look as though the Warriors Gaming Squad (1-4) would have nothing at all to give in this game. Vert was the lone Warrior Gamer to tally a shot in that span as they shot just 1-for-7 from the field and went into the second quarter down 21-10.
In that second quarter, though, the Warriors Gaming Squad started to find their rhythm and got right back in it before long. Vert continued putting up buckets while LYKaPRO did his part to keep the Warriors Gaming in this one with 12 first-half points on 14 shots, most in the game up to that point. Only down 33-30 going into the final two frames, Warriors Gaming were set to complete a comeback of epic proportions.
In fact, it looked as though that was going to become a reality as the team’s jockeyed for position all the way into the final seconds of the game. After the Warriors Gaming Squad took a late lead, it was none other than Winner_Stayz_On who knocked down a huge three pointer to put the Grizz Gaming up two points. The Warriors Gaming Squad weren’t done just yet, however, as they marched right back down the court and got the ball into Bsmoove’s hands who drove into the paint and tied the game up with a runner that rattled its way in.
Only seven seconds remained in the game as DDouble2K hit the biggest jumper of his young NBA 2K career that put his team up for good. Vert had a solid look under the basket in a chance to tie the game, but his shot rolled off the rim and Grizz Gaming picked up their second win of the season. This was no doubt the team’s most complete performance of the season, as all five members put up double digits in the big-time win.
