The Raptors Uprising have been the class of the NBA 2K League this year, and they proved that once again with a 2-0 win over the T-Wolves Gaming on Friday afternoon.
The Raptors quickly established control of the first game of the series, notching a 15-11 lead following the first quarter. They would pull away for good in the second period, however, as they built a 21-10 advantage that pushed them up by 15 points at the break. The T-Wolves tried to turn things around and looked far better in the third quarter, winning by one point, but their fate was already sealed. As if that wasn’t enough, the Raptors increased the tempo in the fourth quarter and smothered the T-Wolves offense, winning the fourth quarter 28-15 on route to a comfortable 77-50 victory in the series opener.
Kenny Got Work paced the Raptors with 31 points and seven assists, while ReeceMode was an offensive threat with his 22-point performance. Sick One filled the stat sheet admirably, finishing with six points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and two steals. BearDaBeast was the T-Wolves’ best player with 17 points and 10 assists, but he also committed five turnovers. Big Saint contributed 10 points, while FEAST notched 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The Raptors carried that momentum into Game 2 and jumped out to a 22-15 lead in the first quarter, but the T-Wolves wouldn’t make things so easy for them in Game 2. The Raptors won the second quarter 17-10, but they wouldn’t score more than 15 points in any quarter the rest of the way. The T-Wolves looked impressive in the second half, winning both quarters 12-10 and 21-13, respectively. However, they fell short of a comeback. The Raptors barely escaped with a Game 2 win by a 62-58 score, and that gave them a 2-0 series win.
Kenny Got Work might have turned the ball over seven times, but he chipped in with 32 points, six assists, four steals and two rebounds. Legit had 13 points with six rebounds, while Timelycook contributed 10 points. Meanwhile, BearDaBeast chipped in with another double-double for the T-Wolves, as he contributed 19 points and 11 assists despite turning the ball over five times. Big Saint had 18 points and seven steals, while Jmoney notched 10 points.
