The three-seed Wizards District Gaming faced 14-seed 76ers GC on Thursday in the first round of the field of 16 in THE TURN, powered by AT&T. With a 10-2 regular-season record, Wizards District Gaming entered the game as strong favorites.

Game 1 began with a 31-20 Wizards DG lead at halftime before the lead jumped up to 49-34 after three quarters. The team closed the contest out in the fourth quarter and took a 62-51 victory to go up 1-0 in the series. Dayfri turned in a big line to lead WDG, posting 25 points, 14 boards and three swats, while JBM went for 18 points and seven dimes. For 76ers GC, BreadwinnerLA turned in 15 points and nine boards, but Radiant struggled. The typically-productive point guard scored 11 points on 5-of-17 shooting and struggled from the floor all game.

Game 2 featured an early reset and was all Wizards DG from whistle to whistle. In the first half, the team went up 45-28 thanks to a well-rounded team effort where four starters scored at least seven points. Radiant led 76ers GC with 10 points, but the team gave up eight turnovers.

Wizards DG got off to a strong start in the second half and blew the lead up to 67-47 heading into the fourth quarter before finishing the game with a blowout 78-51 victory to complete the sweep and win the series. After scoring just six points in Game 1, Just_Awkward came alive for 25 points to guide Wizards DG in the closeout win.

The loss knocks 76ers GC out of the tournament. Wizards District Gaming will move on to face the winner of Mavs Gaming and Lakers Gaming on Friday with a trip to the semifinals on the line.
