RotoWire – Juan Pablo Aravena
76ers GC cruised in Game 1 and couldn’t repeat that same performance in Game 2. Either way, they managed to win 2-0 against Heat Check Gaming in their three-game series Wednesday night in THE TURN, powered by AT&T.
The 76ers came out firing in Game 1, and they were up by five points once the first quarter came to an end. They would increase that advantage to 15 points following a 22-12 second quarter, as Heat Check Gaming were sloppy on offense and unable to solve things offensively. The Heat showed signs of a potential comeback with a 21-18 third quarter, but that would fade away in the fourth.
The 76ers didn’t waste time in the final frame and won it 23-10, mostly due to their impressive defense on Heat’s point guard, GlennRatty. The 76ers controlled the game down the stretch en route to a comfortable 82-57 victory in Game 1.
Radiant, who got the start at shooting guard instead of point guard, looked comfortable and finished with 45 points and eight assists. Scretty had 22 points and two boards as the duo combined to carry the offense in Game 1. GlennRatty was the Heat’s top scorer with 32 points and six assists, but he also committed eight turnovers. Hotshot did a good job as well, notching 12 points, 10 boards, and five assists.
Things didn’t get as comfortable as they were in Game 2, though. The 76ers quickly jumped out to a 15-12 lead in the first quarter, but they had to fight with everything they had to maintain that edge. Heat Check Gaming grabbed a one-point lead at the break following an 18-14 second quarter, but the 76ers tied things up by the start of the second half.
A 20-17 third quarter restored the 76ers lead to two points, and they closed things out with an 18-17 win in the final frame. The 76ers ended winning by a tight 67-64 score, but that was enough to earn the win and the series by a 2-0 score.
Radiant finished Game 2 with 25 points and eight dimes, but he only shot 9-for-24 from the field. USERPICK notched 18 points, while BreadwinnerLA posted 12 points with 14 rebounds. GlennRatty, who played at shooting guard in Game 2, and Hotshot once again dominated the Heat offensive scheme. Ratty ended with 39 points and six assists, while Hotshot notched 18 points with 15 boards.
