T-Wolves Gaming Advances to the Semifinals

July 25, 2019

The No. 4 seed, T-Wolves Gaming, took down Kings Guard Gaming by a score of 56-49 in what turned out to be the final game of Thursday’s slate during the first round of the NBA 2K League playoffs.
The T-Wolves started the night on a positive note, defeating the Kings 64-51 in the first contest of the three-game series. It would be up to the Kings to win the second matchup to extend the series to Game 3, but they were unable to do so against a stifling T-Wolves defense. T-Wolves Gaming applied full-court pressure from the very start, and it resulted in a flurry of early turnovers. They were also able to force the Kings into taking a slew of poor shots as the shot clock expired. The T-Wolves held a 14-7 lead into the second stanza.
It was more of the same in the second period, though neither team found much shooting success. The T-Wolves knocked down 11 of 21 attempts from the field, while the Kings sank just 7 of 17 shots. T-Wolves Gaming would carry a 27-18 lead into the second half. It’s also worth noting that Kings Guard Gaming committed an eye-popping nine turnovers through the first 12 minutes of action.
The Kings made a run to kick off the second half, cutting the deficit to four points, but the T-Wolves came through with a run of their own and would head into the final quarter with a 10-point lead (44-34). The Kings made things interesting in the final two minutes of action, cutting the deficit to just one point, but the T-Wolves were ultimately able to deliver a dagger, drilling a trey to push their lead to six points with 44.3 seconds remaining. BearDaBeast turned in a gritty performance, registering 22 points on 9-for-13 from the field while also dishing out nine assists. TURNUPDEFENSE also contributed with 11 points, while JMoneyRep817 poured in 12 points. For the Kings, Yusuf_Scarbz led the way with 17 points, while Bp was notably held to just six points on two of nine shooting from the field. T-Wolves Gaming is moving on to the next round and will face off against Warriors Gaming Squad.
