Kings Guard Gaming, Cavs Legion GC Split Two-Game Series

Cavs Legion GC and Kings Guard Gaming played in Week 6 of the NBA 2K League with Kings Guard Gaming taking the first game, 70-58, before Cavs Legion GC won the second game, 76-70.

Game 1 opened with Kings Guard Gaming showing off their offensive chops once more, storming to a 20-point quarter and five-point lead at the end of the first frame, and the Kings led 20-15. While Cavs Legion GC fought to keep it close in the second quarter, they weren’t able to chip away, and the five-point Kings Guard Gaming lead lasted to halftime with the score set at 30-25. Kings Guard Gaming broke the game wide open in the third quarter, charging to another 20-point quarter and extending the lead to 12 points with a 55-43 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Cavs Legion GC opened the fourth quarter quickly to bring the lead down to eight points inside the first two minutes, but Kings Guard Gaming pulled it back, and took the game 70-58.

Mama Im Dat Man put up another exceptional performance with 40 points, while oFAB managed 18 points for Cavs Legion GC. DLAW added a double-double for the Cavs with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

Game 2 was a much different story, as Cavs Legion GC flew out to a quick first quarter lead, ending the opening frame up 10 points, 26-16. Cavs Legion showed no sign of slowing down in the second quarter and kept the pressure on, flying into the second half with a dominant 45-30 lead. Kings Guard Gaming came out hot in the second half and looked to close the 15-point deficit, but they could only bring the lead down to 14 by the end of the third quarter, and Cavs Legion GC maintained a 60-46 lead heading into the final frame. Mama Im Dat Man caught fire to start the fourth quarter and hit three consecutive shots from beyond the arc to drag Kings Guard Gaming back into the game, but in the end it wasn’t enough, and Cavs Legion GC secured the split with a 76-70 victory.

Mama Im Dat Man was brilliant for Kings Guard Gaming in the defeat with 36 points, though this time oFAB kept pace, adding 25 points and nine assists, while Strainer tacked on 20 points to propel Cavs Legion GC to the win.

Cavs Legion GC (5-11) will have a matchup against Raptors Uprising GC on Friday, while Kings Guard Gaming (11-7) will be off until THE TURN Powered by AT&T.
