Blazer5 Gaming secured a comfortable win in Game 1 on Friday, and the team mounted a strong comeback in the second game to earn a sweep over Lakers Gaming

The two teams were evenly matched throughout the first quarter of Game 1, but Blazer5 Gaming emerged with a five-point lead while shooting 7-for-8 from the floor, as the score was 19-14 following the first six minutes. However, the Lakers managed to make up some ground in the second quarter, as ReeseDaGod, Seese, Bobby Buckets and Krazy had all topped five points by halftime. However, Blazer5 Gaming still held a narrow 36-34 lead heading into the second half.

Blazer5 Gaming pulled away early in the second half, as they went on an 11-0 run in the first 2:24 of the third quarter before forcing a Lakers timeout. While Lakers Gaming kept pace throughout the remainder of the quarter, Blazer5 Gaming still had a 57-44 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Blazer5 Gaming continued to pile on the points in the final frame, and the team coasted to an 81-61 win. Blazer5 Gaming had three players record double-doubles, as Bash (21 points, 10 assists), Scretty (23 points, 10 assists) and G O O F Y 7 5 7 (22 points, 10 rebounds) were all able to accomplish the feat. ReeseDaGod had a game-high 29 points for the Lakers, but Krazy (11 points) was his only teammate who scored in double figures.

Lakers Gaming turned things around early in Game 2 with an 11-5 run to begin the contest. They were able to keep a lead throughout much of the quarter, and they entered the second frame with an 18-12 advantage. The Lakers continued their dominance with a 7-0 run in the first 1:14 of the second quarter. Blazer5 Gaming had more success to close out the first half, but the Lakers still had a 39-30 lead at halftime.

Blazer5 Gaming turned things around in the third quarter, as Bash and Scretty combined for 13 points in the frame. By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the Lakers’ lead had dwindled to 48-47. The teams remained even throughout most of the final frame, but Lakers Gaming maintained a slight advantage until Bash gave Blazer5 Gaming a 63-62 lead with 1:04 remaining in the game. The Lakers converted on a pair of free throws to regain the lead, but Bash made a 30-foot jumper with 14.7 seconds left to secure the 69-64 win. Bash led the way with 30 points and four assists for Blazer5 Gaming, while Scretty contributed 22 points and eight assists. ReeseDaGod was dominant with 33 points and eight assists for the Lakers, but the team was unable to secure the win.

Lakers Gaming (3-19) will face Hornets Venom GT on Saturday, while Blazer5 Gaming (10-10) will take on Jazz Gaming on Wednesday.
