Warriors Gaming Sweep Away Pistons GT

July 14, 2020

RotoWire – Juan Pablo Aravena

Warriors Gaming Squad defeated Pistons GT 2-0 during their three-game set Tuesday in a matchup that featured one tightly contested affair and a very one-sided outing.

Warriors Gaming Squad got off to a slow start in Game 1, and the Pistons looked in control following a 20-12 first-quarter score. The Pistons managed to keep that eight-point differential alive heading into the break, but they weren’t able to sustain that advantage in the second half. The Warriors adjusted pieces on both ends of the court, and the differential was noticeable — a 21-15 third quarter made things closer heading into the final minutes, and the Warriors forced the overtime period with a 14-12 fourth quarter.

One overtime was not enough to find a winner, though. After both teams were tied 9-9 following the first OT, a second one was played and a winner finally emerged from there. The Warriors were clinical and more precise when they had to be. That was enough to earn a big 80-79 win in a game that could’ve gone both ways.

CB13 was the best player for the Warriors in Game 1, as he finished with 32 points and 15 assists while shooting 13-of-25 from the field. Bsmoove added 18 points, Matty chipped in with 12 points and Slaughter had a 10-point, 17-rebound double-double. Demon JT paced the Pistons with 29 points, while LyKaPRO contributed 15 points and Ramo notched 16 points with 10 boards.

Pistons GT looked out of gas in Game 2 and struggled massively to cope with the intensity of Warriors Gaming Squad. The Warriors were a few steps ahead of their rivals as soon as the game started, and a 20-8 first quarter was quickly translated into a 15-point lead at the break (36-21). The Warriors didn’t step off the gas, though, and they never allowed the Pistons a slim chance to get back into the game.

The Pistons couldn’t even try to attempt a comeback, as the Warriors kept dominating and won the final two quarters by expressive scores: 22-15 in the third, and 34-19 in the fourth. The result? The Warriors cruised to a 92-55 win in Game 2, and a 2-0 win in the series.

CB13 dominated once again and finished with 43 points and 12 assists. All five Warriors scored in double digits, but it’s worth highlighting what Slaughter and Gradient did. While the center contributed 14 points, 15 rebounds and six assists, the shooting guard chipped in with 12 points while shooting 6-of-7 from the field. Demon JT was the Pistons’ best player with 21 points, while Ramo added 16 points with 10 boards. However, they looked overmatched throughout the entire contest.

With the win, Warriors Gaming moved to 9-3 in the season. Meanwhile, the Pistons fell to 3-11 and remain near the bottom of the standings.
