Kings Guard Gaming and Hawks Talon GC played a thrilling three-game matchup Friday, where BP and Dat Boy Shotz faced off against their former teams after being traded last season. Things went down to the wire but in the end, the Kings came through in the clutch and won the series by a 2-1 score.

Things started better for the Hawks, though, as they looked in control during Game 1 of the series. They quickly jumped to a 17-14 lead in the first quarter and further extended that advantage following a 28-24 second quarter, giving them a seven-point lead following the first half.

The Kings were thought to be left for dead, but they attempted a comeback in the second half. Their efforts would fall short, however, and the Hawks would clinch a Game 1 win by a tight 75-71 score. However, the Kings’ second-half performance showed they had more to give during the rest of the matchup.
BP had a stellar performance in Game 1, as he poured in a game-high 40 points while adding eight assists. followTHEGOD added 15 points and Lee notched nine points with 14 rebounds. Bash led the Kings despite the defeat with 24 points and 16 assists, while Dat Boy Shotz posted 14 points with seven boards.

The Kings carried the momentum they showed towards the end of Game 1 into the start of Game 2, as they began the first quarter leading by five points (18-13). They would pull away for good in the second quarter, edging their opponents by a 42-26 score at the break. That would be too much of a disadvantage for Hawks Talon. Despite their attempts to mount a comeback in the second half, they had the same fate as the Kings in Game 1 — they failed.
Hawks Talon GC won both the third (20-14) and fourth (17-16) quarters. That wouldn’t be enough, though. The Kings did everything they had to do to win the game in the second quarter and managed to tighten things up when needed. Despite the Hawks’ improved performance after the break, the Kings forced a decisive Game 3 with a 72-63 score.
Bash had 35 points for the Hawks, and he also added six assists. Seemo and Yusuf_Scarbz each chipped in with 11 points. BP and Kel were the best players for Hawks Talon, as they ended with 23 and 22 points each, respectively. BP also added seven assists. Lee produced a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Game 3 got off to a tight start and it followed a marked pattern — the Kings were always on top, but the Hawks never let them escape. Unfortunately for the latter, the Kings didn’t let go of the control and eventually were too much for their rivals. Kings Guard won each of the four quarters, although they didn’t win any by more than five points. The result? A 73-60 win for the Kings that gave them a huge 2-1 victory in the series.
Bash had 27 points and nine assists in the deciding game, while shooting 13-of-20 from the field. Seemo led the way with 29 points, while Dat Boy Shots chipped in with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. BP paced Hawks Talon with 29 points and seven dimes, while Lee added 17 points.
