RotoWire – Juan Pablo Aravena
The 76ers GC completed a stunning comeback against Lakers Gaming, earning a 2-1 win during their Tuesday matchup after losing the opening game of the three-game set.
Lakers Gaming dominated Game 1 and won by a huge 24-point margin, although it’s fair to say they struggled to gain control at first. The first quarter finished with the Lakers up by just one point, and they would have to wait until the second half to establish some sort of dominance. With the Lakers up by four points heading into the break, all signs pointed to a tight contest — but the Lakers pulled away for good in the third quarter with a 26-10 score. The final quarter also saw the Lakers win, 24-20, as they ended cruising to a comfortable 81-57 victory.
SAV paced the Lakers with 33 points and 10 assists in Game 1, while Tactuk added 21 points. Dweq also delivered a strong performance since he finished with 13 points and 19 boards. Radiant posted a 18-point, five-assist effort, but that wasn’t enough. The best player for 76ers GC was BreadwinnerLA, who ended with 23 points, 18 boards and seven assists.
The 76ers GC would change their attitude for Game 2, though. Knowing they had their backs against the wall, 76ers GC seemed to up the intensity, although they struggled to match with the Lakers’ momentum. The Lakers were up by three points at the break but, just like it happened in Game 1, but the second half would prove to be a turning point. The 76ers GC won the third quarter by a 23-9 score and that would flip the score for good. The Lakers won the final quarter by a 18-12 score, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback. The 76ers GC secured the win, 66-61.
Radiant took over in Game 2 and finished with 32 points and three assists while shooting 50 percent from the field. BreadwinnerLA did a good job of playing second fiddle and posted 14 points with 12 boards, while Scretty finished with 11 points. SAV paced the Lakers with 32 points.
The 76ers GC carried their momentum from Game 2 into the series decider and jumped to a 19-14 lead in the first quarter. Aided by their strong defense and timely offense, they would break away in the second quarter (25-12) and the third period (26-14), creating a 30-point lead into the final quarter. The Lakers attempted a comeback, but the deficit was too much to overcome. 76ers GC closed the deal and won Game 3 — and the series — by a 89-66 score.
Radiant exploded for 37 points and seven assists in Game 3, while Scretty had 26 points and USERPICK added 13 with six boards. SAV had 21 points and 15 assists for the Lakers, but he shot just 7-of-16 from the field. Tactuk had 13 points and Dweq posted 14 points with 10 rebounds in the series finale.
