Heat Check Gaming squared off against 76ers GC on Friday in a matchup of 1-6 teams. Game 1 was a complete domination by 76ers GC from whistle-to-whistle. A 24-12 first-quarter advantage gave 76ers GC a comfortable lead, though Heat Check Gaming whittled the lead to single digits by halftime. That was the closest HCG would come, as SGC won the second half by a cavernous margin to claim a monster 92-63 victory and capture Game 1. Radiant erupted and nearly matched the scoring of the entire Heat Check Gaming squad with 49 points to go with nine assists. Scretty did his part with 19 points and six dimes, while Steez notched a triple-double with 10 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. For HCG, GlennRatty scored 23 and Hotshot scored 20, while both handed out six assists.

Game 2 was a much closer contest, as HCG clawed back to even the series at one game apiece. It was a back-and-forth game all evening, before the contest went into overtime. HCG had one final look at the basket in regulation, but GlennRatty’s short jumper clanged off the iron. Overtime was a sloppy affair, consisting of turnovers and fouls aplenty. Heat Check Gaming went up 68-66 with a minute to play, but SGC hit a huge three with 50 seconds remaining to put SGC up 69-68. There was little time for celebration, however, as HCG went on a 6-0 run to retake the lead 74-69. With a final score of 74-71, HCG forced a Game 3. Radiant came alive with 37 points to lead all scorers for the second game in a row, though the effort was for naught in the loss. GlennRatty double-doubled with 29 points and 11 assists, while Hotshot grabbed 20 rebounds in the victory.

Game 3 was a closely-fought battle, and it began with HCG up 34-32 at halftime. In the second half, Heat Check Gaming used an even third quarter to carry a two-point lead into the final frame. As usual, GlennRatty paced his team in scoring with a game-high 27 points, while Scretty and Steez did the heavy lifting for SGC. In the fourth quarter, GlennRatty took over and scored 15 points to lead his team to a 69-63 victory and win the series against 76ers GC 2-1 after losing Game 1 by nearly 30 points. After two monster performances, Radiant was held to just 13 points in the decisive loss, while Steez just missed a third consecutive double-double with 15 points and nine boards.
