Magic Gaming faced Warriors GS on Friday in one of the final matchups of Week 7. Coming off a heartbreaking loss to Mavs Gaming on Thursday, Warriors GS sought to avoid losing two straight for the first time all season against the 2-6 Magic.
The first quarter of Game 1 was a draw, but Magic Gaming outscored Warriors GS 17-12 in the second quarter to take a five-point lead into the break. WGS responded in the third quarter to cut the lead to just two points entering the fourth quarter. Magic Gaming won the crucial final period to take a 60-52 victory. CB13 led Warriors GS with 22 points, while Slaughter pulled down 15 boards. For Magic Gaming, Reizey put up a game-high 32 points to go with eight assists to lead Magic Gaming to the surprising win, and May double-doubled with 12 points and 12 boards.

Game 2 was another competitive affair in the first half, and it began with a Magic 22-14 lead after the fourth quarter. Warriors GS came out strong in the second quarter and notched the game at 29 apiece with 30 seconds to go. A deep three from Magic Gaming put the team up 32-29, but Warriors GS used a technical foul free throw and a quick alley-oop jam to even the score at halftime. The first half was a battle of point guards, as CB13 posted 20 points while Reizey went for 17. Warriors GS turned the tables in the second half and balled out with a 25-4 third quarter that included 11 points from CB13, to bring his running total to 31. CB13 saved the best for last though, as he dropped 20 on Magic Gaming in the final frame to finish with a game-high 51 points. Warriors GS used a crushing 84-52 win in Game 2 to even the series at 1-1.

Game 3 featured much of the same in the first half, as Reizey (19 points) and CB13 traded buckets for two quarters, and Warriors GS took a 25-23 into halftime. Warriors GS kept the tempo up in the third quarter and increased the lead to 42-38 before the two teams engaged in the deciding fourth quarter. Magic Gaming led one final charge and regained the lead, going ahead 56-53 with under 20 seconds to play. From there, Profusion – a player not known for his scoring since his Celtics days – hit two clutch free throws to go up 58-53. Warriors GS hit a dunk on the other end, but it was too late. The following inbounds sealed the win, as Magic Gaming simply dribbled out the final few seconds and celebrated the win.

The loss comes as a devastating blow for Warriors GS, who falls to 6-3 after consecutive losses. Magic Gaming improves to 3-6 with a surprising victory to finish Week 7 on a high note.
