T-Wolves Gaming Sweep Lakers Gaming

After a back-and-forth Game 1, T-Wolves Gaming took control of Wednesday’s series during the second game to secure a sweep over Lakers Gaming.

Lakers Gaming eked out a series win against Pacers Gaming on Tuesday, and they started off their series against T-Wolves Gaming with a bang by jumping out to a 9-0 run to begin Game 1. The T-Wolves managed to find a slight rhythm later in the first quarter, but the Lakers exited the first frame with an 18-10 lead. T-Wolves Gaming had a much more effective second quarter, but they still trailed 28-26 at the half behind SAV’s nine points and five assists for Lakers Gaming, along with eight points and two rebounds from Kev.

T-Wolves Gaming continued to chip away over the second half, tying the game at the end of the third quarter before eventually securing a 66-58 win. The Lakers struggled maintaining possession throughout the game, committing 18 total turnovers. Kev had 19 points for Lakers Gaming behind a 5-for-11 mark from three-point range, but SAV committed nine turnovers despite putting together a 16-point, 11-assist double-double, while Dweq also had seven giveaways. Heading into Wednesday’s game, T-Wolves Gaming’s FEAST ranked second in the league with 14.6 RPG, and he remained effective in that area with 13 rebounds along with 17 points and four blocks, while JMoney led all scorers for the T-Wolves with 30 points.

It was T-Wolves Gaming’s turn to get off to a hot start in Game 2, as they went on a 12-6 run over the first three minutes of the contest. Lakers Gaming evened things out during the remainder of the quarter, but the T-Wolves still finished the first quarter leading 26-21. T-Wolves Gaming took control of the game during the second half, outscoring the Lakers 20-9 during the second quarter to enter halftime with a 46-30 lead as they went 10-for-14 from beyond the arc, while Lakers Gaming was just 11-for-21 on all field goals.

T-Wolves Gaming started the second half by going 10-for-15 on their field goals during the third quarter to increase their lead to 68-42. Lakers Gaming had just a 32 percent field goal conversion rate over the second half, including going just 3-for-14 from the field during the fourth quarter. Their ball handling also got sloppier as the game progressed. The Lakers gave up just five turnovers over the first half while the game remained relatively close, but they had 13 turnovers by the time the game ended, with 11 of those coming from SAV, who also led the team in scoring with 23 points and six assists. JMoney had a 40-point performance for T-Wolves Gaming in the second game, while FEAST had a 14-point, 18-rebound double-double.

T-Wolves Gaming (6-3) will face Kings Guard Gaming on Thursday, while Lakers Gaming (2-9) will look to bounce back against Knicks Gaming on July 2.
