Rotowire
Game 1 of the series between Lakers Gaming and Pacers Gaming was a tight one, where either side dominated one half, although the Pacers prevailed in the end thanks to their strong first half. Pacers Gaming jumped out to a 14-13 lead in the first quarter but ran away good in the second period, when a stout defensive performance allowed them to create a 13-point advantage (34-21) heading into the break. Lakers Gaming came out with a different attitude after the break and won the remaining two quarters (18-12 and 16-14, respectively), but that wasn’t enough. Pacers Gaming took care of the ball down the stretch and ended winning by a tight 60-55 score.
Swizurk paced Pacers Gaming with 25 points and five assists, and he shot a respectable 10-for-21 from the field. Jomar was the only other Pacer who finished in double digits, as he ended with 10 points, 14 rebounds and four assists. SAV paced the Lakers with 22 points and 11 assists in Game 1, but he also committed seven turnovers. Kev notched 11 points, while Dweq delivered 18 points and 13 boards while shooting a perfect 9-for-9 from the field.
Things didn’t change much in Game 2, as both teams went back and forth and neither managed to gain supremacy over the other. The Lakers executed slightly better, though, and jumped out to a 17-15 lead after the first quarter, with Tactuk leading the way thanks to eight points on 4-of-4 from the field. Lakers Gaming didn’t take the foot off the gas and pushed their lead up to seven points midway into the second quarter, as SAV delivered a show running the point for Lakers Gaming, and they built a seven-point lead at the half after a deep three from Kev with only a few seconds left.
SAV started the second half scoring five consecutive points for the Lakers to begin the second half, and he was involved in his team’s first seven points of the quarter to create a 12-point lead early in the third. They held that advantage and entered the final six minutes of play with a double-digit advantage. The Pacers would attempt to storm back in the fourth and came as close as three points midway into the fourth quarter, but the Lakers closed things out effectively, forcing a decisive Game 3 with a 74-65 win.
SAV paced the Lakers with 22 points and 17 assists despite committing 10 turnovers. Tactuk added 16 points, Kev finished with 11, and Dweq posted 16 points, eight boards, five assists and five steals. Swizurk notched 22 points and five assists for Pacers Gaming, but he also committed 10 turnovers. NateKahl had 14 points and WoLF had 11 with six boards. Jomar notched 12 points and 13 boards, as well as four blocks, three steals and two assists.
Game 3 was a tight contest once again and the first six minutes of action saw the Lakers jump on top by one point (15-14), although they opened up a good gap by half time when they went up by nine points, led by, once againn, SAV who notched 19 of his total points between the first two quarters. Pacers Gaming struggled from deep during the first half, going 3-for-11. That trend wouldn’t change in the second half.
SAV was absolutely dominant after the break and while the Pacers tried to rally back, the Lakers’ point guard was excellent to carry his team to victory, even filling out his Takeover meter late in the third quarter. The final quarter essentially became a one-man duel between SAV and Swizurk, as the Pacers floor general did what he could to turn things around while carrying his team offensively, either creating or assisting. In the end, though, Swizurk committed a few turnovers while SAV was able to secure the win for the Lakers. Lakers Gaming took home Game 3 (75-65) and the series by a comeback 2-1 victory.
SAV led the Lakers with 43 points and eight assists, while shooting an impressive 18-of-28 from the field. Kev had 15 points and Vert added 10, while Dweq notched four points, nine boards, four assists and three steals. Swizurk had 26 points and six assists, but he also committed four turnovers. Bobby Buckets finished with 20 points and WoLF added 14 for Pacers Gaming.
