Wizards District Gaming faced Mavs Gaming on Friday in the final game of Week 6. This series was a blowout from whistle to whistle, with Wizards District Gaming dominating Mavs Gaming throughout. In Game 1, WDG got off to an big 24-6 lead through the first quarter and extended that lead to 44-21 by halftime. That lead ballooned even further in the second half, as Wizards District Gaming entered the fourth quarter with a commanding 60-36 lead before finishing the contest with an 83-54 victory. JBM led the way for the winning squad, posting a game-high 27 points to go with eight assists. Just_Awkward scored 19, ReeseDaGod managed 14 and Dayfri added a strong double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. For Mavs Gaming, Dimez scored a team-high 15 points, Sherm had 14 and PeteBeBallin contributed 14 points, 11 boards and four rejections.

Game 2 was much of the same as WDG took a 41-20 lead into halftime. In this one, Wizards District Gaming shot better than 80 percent as a team and cashed all five of its three-point attempts in the first half. On the other hand, Mavs Gaming managed less than 41 percent shooting as a team and committed eight turnovers, setting the stage for a sweep. The game got more out of hand after halftime, and Wizards District Gaming finished the Mavs 85-50 in the win, clinching the series in the process. It was a team effort for WDG, as three of the five starters scored at least 21 points. JBM finished with 22 points and 11 assists, Just_Awkward went for 22 points and six steals, Dayfri scored 21 to go with five blocks and ReeseDaGod scored 18. For Mavs Gaming, Sherm and Dimez each scored 17, while PeteBeBallin grabbed 12 boards.

In this matchup of two top-tier teams, the blowout nature of these victories was surprising. The win gives Wizards District Gaming a 6-1 record heading into next week’s Tipoff Tournament, while Mavs Gaming falls to 6-3 on the season with the loss.
