Both Lakers Gaming and Celtics Crossover Gaming entered Wednesday’s game with a goose-egg in the win column, so both teams were supremely motivated to rectify that deficiency. The Lakers, on the brink of a lost season at 0-8, had the most to lose, and as an earthquake rattled Los Angeles, the Lakers made some rumble of their own.

The Lakers made a statement in Game 1 by blowing out the Celtics,80-48. They held a 20-point lead at the half and kept the foot on the gas pedal in the second half, outscoring the Celtics 37-18 in the third and fourth quarters. SAV was lights-out in this contest, notching 44 points and 10 assists. Tactuk was a stout defensive presence for the Lakers with 10 points and a game-high eight steals, and Dweq pitched in defensively with 13 rebounds, three steals and four blocks. While Boston’s premier point guard led the team in scoring (20 points), oFab’s 12 turnovers didn’t do his team any favors. No one else in the Celtics lineup scored in double-digits.

The Celtics refused to lie down and took off to an 18-13 lead in the first quarter of Game 2, as oFab immediately looked more consistent and locked in with his shooting stroke. The Lakers would not be denied, as they surged to even up the score at halftime. Despite abysmal 3-point shooting from both teams in the first half, the game briefly boiled down to a shooting duel between oFab and SAV, and it was the Lakers point guard who gained the upper hand. Dweq proved to be relentless off the boards, and ultimately the Celtics folded after an encouraging start. The Lakers took the second game to sweep Boston, 75-67. SAV posted a 24-point, 16-assist double-double and Dweq absolutely dominated inside with a 22-point, 16-rebound double-double of his own. oFab once again posted a stuffed stat line for the Celtics (34 points, seven assists) and TooxCool contributed 18 points, 15 rebounds and six assists at the five.

Lakers Gaming (1-8) will wait until Week 7 for their next opponent. Celtics Crossover Gaming (0-4) will play the second game of a back-to-back against Nets GC on Thursday.
