Heat Check Gaming entered Season 3 with a completely revamped lineup after acquiring five draft picks, but the new-look Miami team has yet to fire on all cylinders. That trend continued on Wednesday, as Nets GC took the series, 2-0.

Game 1 looked to be an even match in the first quarter, but the second stanza was all Nets, as they rattled off 24 points and held Miami to only 11 points, giving Brooklyn a 41-29 lead at the half. NetsGC continued to extend their lead in the third quarter, and despite a late charge from Miami, the Nets took the first game of the series, 75-65. Choc led the way for the Nets with 27 points and nine assists, and Chess pitched in with 21 points. Shuttles also came just shy of a triple-double, recording 11 points, 19 rebounds and nine assists. GlenRatty paced Heat Check with 31 points, and KingPeroxide was the only other Miami player to register a double-digit point total (11 points, five rebounds).

Game 2 was a much closer affair and was also thwarted by several resets and restarts, but the Nets were able to prevail for a 68-65 win despite a much-improved performance by Miami. The synergy of Chess and Choc were on full display in this game, as Choc clocked 15 assists that mostly came Chess’s way. The two players accounted for 36 total points, and Shuttles once again was stellar in the paint with 20 points and 15 rebounds. GlennRatty led the Heat once again with 26 points, and Delusion and KingPeroxide finished with 10 and 12 points, respectively.

Nets GC (2-1) plays a back-to-back game against the Celtics on Thursday, while Heat Check Gaming (1-5) gets the rest of the week and Week 6 off.
