Celtics Crossover Gaming and Grizz Gaming engaged in a three-game battle Tuesday, but Grizz Gaming woke up just in time to earn a hard-fought 2-1 win in the series.

The first game was extremely tight, but the Celtics managed to establish the difference in the exact moments where they needed to do so. Grizz Gaming won the first quarter 16-15, but the Celtics took control after a 20-12 second quarter. The third quarter finished with a 14-14 draw, but it seemed Grizz Gaming could’ve mounted a comeback down the stretch. Instead, Celtics Crossover closed things out with a 20-17 fourth-quarter score. The biggest difference came on the accuracy from long range. While Celtics Crossover Gaming shot 11-of-21 from three, Grizz Gaming made just three of their 11 three-point attempts.

oFAB paced Celtics Crossover Gaming in Game 1 with 35 points and seven assists while shooting an impressive 15-of-22 from the field, as well as 5-of-8 from three-point range. NO xAUTOGRAPHSx chipped in with 18 points, while TooxCool had 16 rebounds and eight assists to go along with four points. Vandi (20 points) and AuthenticAfrican (25 points) were the top scoring threats for the Grizz in the series opener, while G O O F Y 7 5 7 had 13 boards.

Celtics Crossover Gaming carried the momentum of the first contest into Game 2 and quickly jumped to a 39-28 lead following the first half. Grizz Gaming, however, woke up when they needed to and flipped the script after the break. A 23-14 third quarter made things close, but they ran away with the win in the fourth quarter following a 25-9 score. Grizz Gaming stepped up a notch and forced a decisive Game 3 thanks to a strong effort on both ends of the court down the stretch.

Vandi looked absolutely dominant and registered 40 points while shooting 16-of-26 from the field and 5-of-8 from three-point range. AuthenticAfrican had 14 points, while G O O F Y 7 5 7 posted a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds. oFAB scored 43 points for the Celtics, but that wasn’t enough. In fact, he lacked support from his teammates since he was the only Crossover player who reached double-digit scoring in this matchup.

Grizz Gaming knew they had a chance to lock things up in Game 3 and didn’t let that slip away from them. They jumped out to a 22-14 lead following the first quarter and never let it go, further enhancing their advantage in both the second (23-18) and third (15-13) quarters. The Grizz closed things out with a strong fourth quarter, and cruised their way from start to finish on route to an 87-68 victory, and a 2-1 series win.

Vandi had 32 points with 11 assists, and led Grizz Gaming with another stellar shooting performance – 13-of-20 from the field and 6-of-10 from three-point range. AuthenticAfrican chipped in with 23 points, while G O O F Y 7 5 7 posted a double-double of 11 points and 13 boards. DDouble posted 10 points as well. Just like it happened in Game 2, oFAB tried to be the hero for Celtics Crossover but it wasn’t enough. He finished with 50 points on 21-of-35 shooting from the field, but the rest of the team didn’t help him. No other Crossover player posted more than eight points.-
