Lakers Gaming’s fourth-quarter woes are starting to sound like a broken record as they fell to 0-6 on Wednesday following a sweep by Pistons GT, who improved to 1-2.

Lakers Gaming got off to a hot start in Game 1, leading at halftime by 16 points and stretching their lead to as many as 20 points. The virtual Pistons turned on the engines during the second half, notably outscoring the Lakers 30-9 over the fourth quarter. After the dust had settled, Pistons GT emerged with a 68-58 win to open the series.

Pistons GT worked like a well-oiled machine as they mounted their Game 1 comeback. Charger x 704 led the Detroit squad with 24 points, along with four steals and two blocks. Ramo shifted to the power forward position and converted on 9-of-14 field-goal attempts, logging 22 points, five assists and two steals. Joseph moved over to center and only attempted three field goals, but he managed to contribute 10 rebounds and four blocks in the team’s winning effort. SAV was far and away the leading scorer for Lakers Gaming, finishing Game 1 with 42 points and five assists. Tactuk pitched in with four points, 17 rebounds and three assists.

The first half of Game 2 was a much more even affair, as Pistons GT entered halftime leading 35-34. The Lakers managed to gain some traction early in the second half, but they once again imploded in the fourth quarter, giving up a go-ahead bucket by Ramo in the final seconds. Pistons GT picked up the sweep with a 69-68 win in the second game.

Ramo once again served as the power forward for Pistons GT, finishing Game 2 by contributing 27 points, two rebounds and two assists for Pistons GT, while LYKaPRO came alive with 22 points and six rebounds of his own. Joseph was somewhat more productive as the team’s center during the second game of the series, logging six points, 15 rebounds and five assists. SAV had another productive game for Lakers Gaming, recording 47 points and four assists. He got significant help from Tactuk, who finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds, but Los Angeles was unable to generate enough steam to pick up a win.

Lakers Gaming will hit the virtual court again Thursday against Grizz Gaming, who have started the season 0-4. Pistons GT will get a night off before facing Pacers Gaming on Friday.
