Gen.G Tigers began their inaugural season with several close games, but they managed to improve to 2-2 after sweeping 76ers GC on Wednesday.

76ers GC came within one game of winning a championship in 2019, but the team has struggled to get things going in 2020 as they’ve gone winless in their first five contests. It was a similar narrative Wednesday against Gen.G Tigers.

Gen.G Tigers held a steady advantage over the first half of Game 1 as they entered halftime leading 38-32. 76ers GC went cold over the second half as Gen.G Tigers secured an 81-67 victory to open the series.

ShiftyKaii set the tone for the Shanghai club during the first game, recording 40 points, nine assists and six steals, while Killeyy also played a big role with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists. For 76ers GC, Radiant converted on just eight of his 18 field-goal attempts as he finished Game 1 with 19 points and three assists. Steez had a big game with 22 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks, but the Sixers didn’t have a performer that could put them over the top.

Game 2 was much closer as Gen.G Tigers held just a one-point lead entering halftime. 76ers GC managed to turn things on in the third quarter, entering the final frame with a 52-47 advantage. However, Gen.G Tigers managed to find their rhythm late in the game and pulled out a 67-58 win to complete the sweep.

ShiftyKaii once again carried the weight for Gen.G in Game 2 as he finished with 41 points and eight assists. His teammates were relatively quiet on the scoreboard, but Killeyy was effective once again as the team’s center, logging five points, 17 rebounds and three blocks. Radiant had a standout performance for 76ers GC with 37 points and four assists, but his teammates were held in check. Steez picked up nine points and 11 rebounds, but the Sixers were unable to hold off the Tigers late.

Gen.G Tigers will continue their season Wednesday against T-Wolves Gaming, while 76ers GC will look to right the ship Thursday against Heat Check Gaming.
