Heat Check Gaming and Wizards District Gaming played out a thrilling three-game set Tuesday night, with the Wizards ultimately prevailing after claiming Games 2 and 3.

In the opening game, the Wizards got off to a better start and put themselves ahead by a 14-13 score in the first quarter, but the Heat quickly turned things around and secured a 33-26 advantage after the first half following a 20-12 second quarter. Heat Gaming further extended their edge after a 19-12 third-quarter score, pushing the advantage to 14 points before the start of the fourth. Wizards District Gaming couldn’t really knife away at the deficit, ultimately losing Game 1 by 13 points.

GlennRatty paced Heat Gaming with an impressive 37-point performance (14-22 FG, 3-7 3Pt) while adding five assists and two steals. Hotshot was the only other Heat Gaming player who topped the 10-point mark, as he finished with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds while adding five assists. Wizards DG featured three players scoring in double digits and JBM paced the way with 23 points and seven dimes. Dayfri posted 12 points with 10 boards, while ReeseDaGod chipped in with 11 points and three three-pointers.

Wizards District Gaming wouldn’t let the series escape easily, though. Just like Game 1, District Gaming took a first-quarter lead, this time by a 19-10 score. Unlike the previous game, however, the club managed to hold onto their advantage. Even though Heat Check Gaming won the second quarter by a 17-11 score, Wizards District Gaming pulled away for good in the second half — winning both the third and fourth quarters, 19-9 and 16-13, respectively, en route to a comfortable 65-49 win that evened things up one game apiece.

JBM carried Wizards DG with a strong 24-point, five-assist performance, while Newdini chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds and two dimes. Dayfri sniffed a triple-double after notching 16 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks. On the other hand, GlennRatty delivered 27 points with four assists, while Hotshot added eight points with 15 boards for the losing cause.

The decisive Game 3 followed the trend of the two previous contests. Wizards Gaming quickly jumped on top following the first quarter and established a 22-11 lead, but they would extended that advantage even further as the the first half saw them go up by 14 points after a 15-12 second quarter. Wizards DC didn’t relinquish their lead in the second half and despite a fourth-quarter charge from Heat Check Gaming, District Gaming cruised towards a comfortable Game 3, and series, win.

JBM was the best player for Wizards Gaming District in Game 3 after posting 28 points and seven assists, while Dayfri chipped in with a near double-double of 26 points and eight boards. GlennRatty (27 points, 10 assists) and Hotshot (18 points, 11 boards) registered double-doubles for Heat Check Gaming, but that wasn’t enough.

Heat Check Gaming will try to bounce back Wednesday against Knicks Gaming. Meanwhile, Wizards District Gaming won’t play until next Tuesday when they take on Pistons GT.
