Hornets Venom GC defeated 76ers GC, 2-0, in a three-game series between the clubs on Friday evening.

Hornets Venom GC started the first game of the series with intensity and quickly jumped out to a 22-15 lead following the first quarter. The Charlotte-based franchise wouldn’t relinquish that lead en route to taking Game 1 of the three-game set by a comfortable 85-56 score. The Hornets were so dominant that they won every single quarter in this matchup, topping Philly 28-15 in the second quarter, 14-13 in the third, and 21-13 in the final frame to cruise to an easy, comfortable win. The 76ers shot a respectable 21-of-39 from the field but also committed 16 turnovers. Charlotte, on the other hand, won the rebound battle 20-12, dished the ball more effectively (22 assists to 14) and turned the ball over just seven times.

Expose led the Hornets in scoring with 25 points, while Type sniffed a triple-double with 24 points, nine rebounds and nine assists and added four steals and three blocks to his stat line. Snubby (17 points, six assists) and Zae (12 points, 10 boards) also played key roles in the win. On the other hand, Radiant was Philly’s best player with 24 points and 10 assists, but turned the ball over a season-high 10 times. Steez notched 15 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.

There was an extended delay between Game 1 and Game 2 due to technical issues, but that didn’t slow Charlotte down. The Hornets jumped out to an 18-8 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, extending their lead throughout the rest of the game until clinching a comfortable 73-46 win. Philadelphia’s offense was woeful in this game and couldn’t top the 12-point plateau in any of the first three quarters. The team showed a better face in the final minutes, but it was too little, too late. Charlotte cruised to the easy in and remain undefeated so far this season.

Type had another strong performance for he Hornets and led the way with 22 points while also adding 14 rebounds, five assists, eight steals and four blocks. Snubby put up 20 points and Expose contributed 12 points, two boards and four assists. Steez, the leading scorer for the 76ers with 17 points, provided a full stat line recording six rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. Radiant went for 11 points and nine assists, but he was sloppy with the ball again, committing 13 turnovers.
