Magic Gaming and Bucks Gaming both got their seasons underway Wednesday, and it was the Orlando squad that came away with the season-opening victory. Game 1 between two of the league’s original seven clubs got off to a sluggish start, but Orlando picked up the pace after holding a modest 10-8 lead through one quarter. Magic Gaming took a 35-28 lead into halftime and eventually secured a comfortable 74-64 win.

Point guard Reizey led the way with 20 points and 13 assists for Magic Gaming, and ToXsiK added 19 points while shooting a perfect 6-of-6 from the field and 5-of-5 from deep. DT added 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists for Orlando, but his 7-of-8 shooting performance was marred by six turnovers. Regg posted 36 points and eight assists in the losing effort for Bucks Gaming, and Plondo added a well-rounded 10 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Game 2 came down to the wire, but Orlando ultimately overcame a 34-27 halftime deficit and escaped with a 66-63 win to close out the series. Milwaukee had an opportunity to force overtime after a late steal but missed the game-tying attempt from deep as time expired.

Magic Gaming eked out the win thanks to 30 points and six assists from Reizey coupled with 27 points and 14 rebounds from DT. Regg once again led Bucks Gaming with 41 points and seven assists, but the point guard’s 17-of-28 shooting night included what proved to be a costly goose egg on four attempts from long range. Arooks was the only other Bucks Gaming player to take more than three shots, and he finished with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field.
