Pacers Gaming (10-6) locked up a playoff spot in dominating fashion, taking out Nets Gaming Club (7-8) 77-50 on Friday during Week 12 of the NBA 2K League.
On the final day of the regular season, the Pacers claimed the last remaining playoff spot in the league with a blowout victory. Going on a Swizurk-led run to start the game, with the pure sharpshooting point guard totaling 13 points, the Pacers took a 21-6 lead. Wavy.zay scored all of the Nets’ points, all six of them, but couldn’t help but get locked down by WoLF 74. While the Nets would figure some things out as the game went on, scoring double-digit points in every subsequent quarter, the damage was already done. Swizurk ended with 27 points, Matty had 18 in his second straight start at point guard and Ramo had a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double. With the Pacers formidable defense and new-look offense, look for this team to make a splash in the playoffs.
The Nets came close to making the playoffs, but fell short against a surging Pacers side. The offense in the first quarter was a trainwreck but it didn’t get too much better as time went on, with the Nets having their best offensive quarter in the fourth when the game was already decided. Wavy.zay led the way for the Nets with 14 points, with Lav and NateKhal chipping in 10 points a piece, but things were doomed from early on. When you as a team only attempt 36 shots compared to your opponents’ 47, there’s a clear problem with the offense. Against a defense like the Pacers’, though, it’s almost expected that teams without MVP caliber players struggle.
