Pacers Gaming (9-6) put itself in a good position to make the postseason with a big 81-69 win over Celtics Crossover Gaming (10-6) on Thursday during Week 12 of the NBA 2K League.

The Pacers came into this win-and-in, do-or-die game on shaky ground, having lost its last two games. With its back to the wall, the Pacers put Maty in at point guard, shifting Swizurk to a pure sharpshooting shooting guard and WoLF 74 to a slashing defender at small forward. These adaptations paid off in spades, with Swizurk scoring a career-high 32 points on nine-of-14 shooting from beyond the arc. WoLF 74 was a consistent thorn in the Celtics side defensively while putting in 19 points, Matty had only 10 points but contributed eight assists and helped Swizurk space the floor. The Pacers almost blew its lead late in the fourth quarter after the Celtics went on a 9-2 run, but a couple of three-pointers and defensive stops later put the Pacers in control for good, keeping the team’s playoff hopes alive as it faces NetsGC in another do-or-die game.

The Celtics could’ve played the role of gatekeeper and kept the Pacers out, but simply got overwhelmed. oFAB shot poorly throughout the first three quarters but still finished with 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting and 14 assists. The rest of the team managed to pitch in around 10-15 points apiece, but the real difference-maker in this one was sloppiness. The Celtics committed 13 fouls vs the Pacers’ five fouls while not moving the ball much on offense, getting out-assisted 25-to-16. The Celtics are still in the playoffs and will wait for the postseason to begin, but this loss might weigh heavily on a confidence-heavy team.
