Grizz Gaming (8-7) shined on Wednesday, blowing out the playoff-bound Warriors Gaming Squad (7-9), 86-53 during Week 12 of the NBA 2K League.
Once in a blue moon, Grizz Gaming has one of those games where everyone shoots well and they look like the best offense on the planet. Blowing ahead of the Warriors early, the Grizz scored at least 20 points per quarter and were shooting lights-out, making 26-of-30 field goal attempts by the end of the third quarter for a staggering 30-point lead. Vandi led the Grizz with 22 points and 11 assists on eight-of-10 shooting, DDouble put in 20 points while missing a team-high three shots, and KelMav rounded out the shooting gallery with 17 points on seven-of-nine shooting. Jayrod and AuthenticAfrican dominated inside, thanks in large part to the outside shooting pressure, scoring 12 and 15 points, respectively. If the Grizz can keep this pace up and play solid defense like it did Wednesday, this team should frighten any team in the playoffs, provided they make it in.
The Warriors had nothing to play for this game. After all, they already won THE TICKET powered by AT&T and punched their ticket to the playoffs. Perhaps that’s why the Warriors looked lethargic, committing 12 turnovers and 10 personal fouls. Bsmoove put on his working shoes and put up 25 points, but no other Warrior managed to hit double-digit scoring. Where the Grizz shot 35-for-44 on the night, the Warriors fell behind, making just 23-of-46 shots while getting out-assisted 25-to-10. For the Warriors, this blowout might sting, but if they can shake this off, it will just be another day of experience for the playoff-bound, THE TURN and THE TICKET powered by AT&T champions.
