It must just be that kind of day. Only an hour after seeing the winless Grizz Gaming secure their first victory of the season, Celtics Crossover Gaming (1-4) knocked off Nets GC (2-4) by a score of 65-59 during Wednesday’s Week 4 action of the NBA 2K League.

oFAB deserves most of the salutations for his team’s first victory, scoring 21 points (8-13 FG, 1-1 3PT, 4-4 FT) to go along with 12 assists, but it’d be a disservice to not mention the likes of N) xAUTOGRAPHSx who also contributed 15 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and nine rebounds.

In truth, the entirety of Celtics Crossover Gaming just looked more in sync than in past weeks, navigating a devastating effective half-court defense by Nets GC to maneuver in for easy buckets. 14 turnovers certainly isn’t a pristine figure, but Boston also managed to force their opposition into miscues of their own, creating 15 turnovers including five each from point guard Wavy.zay and small forward Lav.

Lav in particular had his issues Wednesday, scoring just 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt) and registering six rebounds. While he did pick up three steals, a critical cold ring near the end of the fourth quarter ultimately paid painful dividends, forcing the likes of Nets GC power forward iiTzChas to attempt a handful of long-range shots out of his comfort zone.

One of those errant threes freed up a pivotal transition three-point attempt in the final frame for ProFusion, who continues to excel in his deep-range role despite the team’s overall struggles. The Celtics Crossover Gaming small forward would finish the contest with 18 points on 8-of-10 from the field, including a five-point fourth quarter which essentially iced away the Celtics’ miniscule lead.
